Hmmm, so does that mean Beltran can play for the American League, against the National League, in Houston (his new home ballpark), or does that mean we lose a reserve? If so, why can't we replace him?

Go Hudson, Mulder ... Byrnes and Dye shoulda gotten in.

Good for Tejada ..

Wished Chavez didn't get hurt.

Jose Guillen should've got in. He puts up just as good offensive numbers, but on top of all that he's the best outfielder on defense. Dude has a major arm, and accurate as heck.

Dye - maybe
Byrnes - definitely not. He certainly doesn't have the numbers to warrant being an all-star.

Giambi starting at first over Ortiz is a joke! But that's what happens when the fans vote.

Did you see that graceful play he made today trying to field that pop foul down the first base line? LOL! I was playing cards at Foxwoods and the whole area burst out laughing, it was great. To his credit though, I'm sure the sun was bright, but still, it was very embarassing. Maybe a parasite bit his nad and impared him. 😛

Mulder and Schilling have the same number of wins, but Mulder has 2 less losses, and leads the AL in ERA, IP, and CGs. He's definitely had a better year 🙂

Starting pitcher for the AL musn't be anyone but Mulder.

Curt Schilling?

Schilling has had a good year, without a doubt, but Mulder has been the best pitcher in the AL this year.

This All-Star game might put Ben Sheets a little bit closer to star status (which he's more than earned by now); that guy has the dirtiest splitter I've ever seen, it's absolutely ridiculous how much it dips.

The guy is under the weather, I'm not gonna beat a guy when he's down. But it's a joke, Giambi's been sitting out the last couple of weeks, he hasn't been himself this season yet, and Ortiz is having an MVP type year.

I'm a yankee fan and I agree. I don't think you should be elligible for an all-star game if you missed more than 2 weeks. But then again, while the fans decide the all-stars things like that will happen. For example, guys like Ichiro and Matsui would make it every year, simply because all japanese fans (and there're a lot) will be voting for them.

Wow it looks like Soriano got the most votes of all the starters in either league. Is he that dominant as a 2nd baseman in the AL? Heck, he got more votes than Bonds!

That's because he's not an ass like Bonds. 🙂
He's also a great offensive player.
