Greetings all,
I have a question on mixing USB 2.0 and 1.1 devices. Will this result in all devices operating at the slower 1.1 speed? I plugged in a Verbatim USB 2.0 CDRW external drive and I got some "High Speed" problem in the windows XP notification near the system tray, alerting me this the cdrw is a 2.0 device but is working at the slower speed. The recording process was in fact very slow (I would estimate similar to ~4X speed burning). The drive was plugged in directly to the back (motherboard: epox 8rda+) but I do also have an external USB 2.0 D-Link hub.
So what can I do about this slowdown? If necessary, I could install a 2nd USB adapter, keeping all 1.1 devices and 2.0 devices on separate USB buses.
