I can't help but wonder why McConnell acts the way he does. I mean, he's clearly power-hungry and greedy, but does he really think history will remember him fondly? That his family will thank him for tarnishing their names because he made a few million?
It's just hard to imagine how someone who isn't a Trump-like pathological narcissist can be so resolutely self-interested that he would knowingly — knowingly! — take the country down the tubes just so his party and bank account will last a while longer.
MM has made (or amassed, I don't know which it is), $35,000,000 as senator. He's also gone as far as he can go in that role, majority leader. If he weren't ML, he'd have less chance of getting reelected, I'm sure his voters, many of them, figure hell, he's in super powerful position, that benefits them. It's a self perpetuating situation, and the GOP are reality deniers front and center, so there you go, that's Mitch. He's a power broker for the right of the aisle, pure and simple. The last thing he wants to do is reach across the aisle.
