The question I think is how much does the autopsy corroborate his statements and is there any other evidence that backs up his statements.

......

We should have blood tracing Brown's movements. Blood at the car door, blood drops as he ran, blood drops in one spot where he stopped and turned around to surrender, etc.

If Brown was actually hit at the door.

Looks like some commies from Chicago have come into town to stoke the flames.

I mentioned that this morning. They've admitted to being down there since... the 10th I think. They were known to be agitators that day as well since the guy was manning the bullhorn and running the chants.

The cops should not be able to use the phrase-- I was afraid for my life"....when they try to explain why the person they shot was unarmed and had their hands in the air....

Are we still pursuing that as a legitimate scenario despite the evidence to the contrary?

I'm sure that you are much more intimate with those than I am.

...

Good one! You win 5 internets!!!

Back here in reality, I find your argument less than compelling. The people who are rioting are predisposed to riot, they've literally said as much.

Someone committing a wrong generally finds a reason to justify their wrong acts. If there was a video, it would be that there is no audio. If there was audio, the confrontation would've started a minute before the camera did.

These are people who decided justice wasn't going to be done, before any reasonable person could've made that determination. A grainy clip from a low-res camera isn't going to change that.

I have it on poor authority that Johnson may have recanted. Also, there may be well armed agitators participating tonight.

I think there is a very important lesson to be learned here.

Police need chest cameras, it allows for instant transparency and for the details of any sort of altercation to be documented.

What is an issue now is that many of these witnesses may be wary of coming forward to corroborate the officer's story. A chest camera has no apprehension, and the recall is basically perfect and indisputable.

It is especially important in areas where there are a majority of black people, simply because when there is white police officer killing black person, the issue is automatically explosive.

That is irony for you, you calling others racists. Oh how rich.

Speaking of indoctrinated trash, its you.
Or maybe what happened isn't what you really want to happen?

Yeah, that's it. We are slowly getting information showing that this thug got what he deserved. And it's slowly coming out that the looters think they "deserve" more.

The only racists here are the ones who scream "whitey killed our babies!" every fucking time this happens, everybody jumps the gun and blames the white(ish) guy, immediately, without looking at things objectively and waiting for the investigation to play out.

Look at the fucksticks in this thread "OMG, THIS GUY WAS A MODEL CITIZEN, THUG COP!" Now that narrative is slowly turning.

You can keep your 5 internets and stay in that bizzaro-world that you call "reality"

Right now there are eyewitnesses saying different things and an autopsy that is so far inconclusive because of that one wound in the arm that could have been from the front or the back. I'm personally on the fence.

It could be justifiable and given the wound to the eye socket it's possible that even if Michael Brown did not charge (right now it's even odds imo until the witnesses are sorted out or there is another autopsy) the officer might have been disoriented enough to think he was

There's no use replying to you any further jackass. You've been an ass for as long as I can remember you posting and recent posts haven't changed that. You "sir" can have the last word.

So who thinks hte cop is going to get a fair trial?

when you have the governor saying "a vigorous prosecution must now be pursued" in a video?

Even if the shooting of Michael Brown was justified, the police completely bungled the immediate aftermath, from their escalation of hostilities in the days immediately following the shooting to the complete lack of information being released for several days. Whether or not Officer Wilson acted in good faith during the actual shooting does not excuse the actions of officers who arrested media members for no reason, who gassed protesters who were not hostile or who threatened to shoot members of the media in defiance of all common sense (I mean, seriously, YOU KNOW THEY ARE RECORDING YOU, DON'T THREATEN TO SHOOT THEM YOU MORON). Those actions speak to a police force that is wildly out of control and used to using threats of violence to achieve their means, which you should be opposed to no matter how you feel about Michael Brown, and those officers who employ those methods should be immediately removed from the force.

Does a recant mean he tells a different story or simply disavows he's existing account?

If true this is best case scenario.

Cops almost always get exonerated in these cases if any doubt whatsoever can be established, which I think is certainly possible in a case where witness testimony seems to be constantly changing. Granted, we don't have anywhere near the full story yet, so it's just wild speculation at this point, but I think it's a bit early to claim that there's no chance of a fair trial.

I'm not sure. you have the governor telling saying that vigorous prosecution needs to happen. you have the Attorney General himself coming for some reason.

i have my doubts if he can.

while the evidence coming out now is really looking like it was justified. I am glad that people (media) are talking about militarization of the police. I think it took the police attacking the media to get them to talk about it
