No dash cam. Not enough money is their excuse. Money for armored cars, body armor, camo, and assault rifles. No money for dash cams.

Seriously? I thought Dash Cams were required nowadays. The vast majority of the time dash cams protect the police officer, so it crazy to not install them. I know Tulsa put them in back in ~93ish after an officer was shot in the head during a traffic stop at night, no witnesses, no leads.

It helps if you understand their motivation. In general, cops seem to enjoy bullying, mistreating, intimidating, and beating people. Despite the fact that these cams almost always result in less complaints, and the evidence overwhelmingly exonerates them from accusations, they also result in less ass beatings. After all, if you're being recorded, it can no longer be your word ("he resisted arrest and reached for my gun so I got to...uh...HAD to beat his ass") against the less believable non-cop. Cops will literally take 10 times the amount of misconduct complaints over being forced to give up beating ass.

Oddly enough, I don't seem to have problems like this. When I get pulled over or an office asks me to do something, I comply and don't seem to have issues like this. Weird. I wonder what the common problem is here. I see a pattern, but I just can't put my finger on it...hmmmm...ah, must just be racism.

People can continue to protest, but until they start addressing the real problem, this will continue to happen. Not a hard problem to figure out.

Doesn't eliminate collusion.

The point is, seek a way to have the truth revealed that doesn't involve confirmation bias, rash judgments, violent riots, etc.

You may see riots as the path to the truth. But riots, rash judgment, and anger lead to a lot more violence towards a lot of innocent people, spurring on more violence. You believe the ends justify the means, because you have a gut feeling you are right. Others say the means are not justified.

If people riot after the court trial takes place and an officer is found not-guilty, and the court proceedings strongly suggest the officer is guilty, then the riots are more justified. But immediate mob action? That's just anger fueling more anger.

So you would have me believe people who did not know each other(except Johnson) after all the chaos of the killing managed to find each other, concoct a lie and get that lie out to the media all in < 12 hrs?

Are you fucking insane??

If you spend any time on youtube you will find TONS of videos showing cops harassing black folks for no reason. And they break the law frequently (the police).

I'm not asking you to believe anything as the truth. The insane part is how you still don't understand that.

There are no absolutes in this world, only percentages. What you're claiming here is that it impossible for something to have happened. In today's connected world of social media, it's not hard at all for people to find each other. In other words, the percentage that collusion happened most certainly is not 0%. I'd say it is a very low percentage of being true, but it is not zero. And I would not take it as the definitive proof that rioting should commence.

It is also a possibility that there was collusion and the death was wrong and unjust. There is a possibility that is the truth.

Either way, rioting is not the answer at this stage of the situation.

That I have to repeat the same stuff over and over again and you numskulls still have this attitude of it's either pitchforks & cocktails or else you're in support of abusive cops...

Grow up.

Well.... rioting sure did stir up international attention. If there were no riots, this may have stayed a local story and got buried.... along with justice. There were plenty of riots during the American Revolution and a WHOLE lot changed. Riots may be messy but they can and often are very effective in affecting change.

I live in a (mostly) white, upper middle class neighborhood, people walk in the middle of the street all the time. Even though many police officers live in the neighborhood, I've never seen a cop telling someone to "get the fuck on the sidewalk." Or grabbing the people by the neck.

In poor neighborhoods there is a strong distrust between police and citizens and vice versa, which results in a lack of respect going both directions.

But no matter what, disrespecting a cop should not result in a death penalty.

Both bear responsibility. That neighborhood where Brown was shot was an ABSOLUTE toxic environment, and the cops are the least of their concerns. The actual PEOPLE in that neighborhood are more of a threat than the cops, but you won't see that on the news because it isn't a sensational black vs white story. Facts are, the place was a dump where no child should be raised. Cops have to deal with that shit on a day to day basis. Quite honestly, I'd say fuck 'em. You think cops are out of control and just drive by shooting black people? Fine. I'll pull ALL of them out. Now you can deal with your own shit.

Now if you want to address the real problem, let's take a look to see how we can fix it.

1. If I lived in that neighborhood, I would have NEVER brought a child into that toxic environment. It's like throwing your kid in a lion's den and then crying when something bad happens. Is it sad that something happened? Yes, definitely. But WTF were you thinking putting him there in the first place. Throw cops out of the equations for a minute, now you have to deal with the other 95% of the toxic elements that are way more dangerous.

2. DO NOT cop an attitude with the police. Black, white, yellow, whatever. Don't do it. Stupid move. If you have a complaint, take it up in a court room. Wrong or right, doesn't matter. Your goal is to get back to living your life, not to complicate it.

3. Put in the work on yourself and get the fuck out of that environment. You DO NOT have to be rich to get an education. Libraries are free. My parents and friends are proof of that.

4. Quit having fucking kids! It only makes it that much more difficult to get out of the situation.

5. Redirect your focus from rims, flat panels, and Air Jordan's, and onto a strong core family unit with a focus on education.

6. Take responsibility for your actions. No one said everyone's path in life would require the same level of effort. But it is your responsibility to figure out the game of life and overcome your obstacles. The rich have it easier, deal with it. Now focus on what YOU need to do to get where you want to go.

Do black people get harassed more than whites? Most cases I'd say yes. Are there staggering statics showing black people killing black people at records levels? Yes. Now which one do you want to address first? Do you want to work on the 5% problem or the 95% problem? Again, it's just a distraction from the real problem.

The difference is, crime rate. I'm going to give you a little test, and tell me what your natural reaction or logical reaction would be:

You are sitting in a chair and 10 people line up in front of you, 5 black, 5 white. The first white guy that walks up to you slaps you in the face. Your first reaction is confusion, not sure WTH just happened. Next a black person walks up to you and shakes your hand. You think, "nice guy." Next up, the next white guy, which rears back and slaps you in the face. "WTF?!" Next up, black guy, shakes your hand. This pattern goes on until you get to the last white guy. He walks up to you, you put your hands up to guard your face, and he looks at you and says, "what's the matter? I wasn't going to hit you. I just wanted to shake your hand and introduce myself."

Are you racist or not?

My point is, the environment has everything to do with the situation. And let me tell you, that shit hole in Ferguson was EXTREMELY toxic.

But no matter what, disrespecting a cop should not result in a death penalty.

Completely agree.

Plot twist: You punch the last white guy before he gets a chance to shake your hand or slap your face.

^^^ @ Jack Burton - I afraid that the people that really need to read your post #512 won't be able/unable to.

Its like ignorant rightwing email forward landed right here in the forum.

Happy days are here again, a protester hugging a Captain in the Mo Highway Patrol -

🙄 Is that what logic is called now? Right wing? I hope not.

If thats what you call logic, I just see victim blaming.

Funny how you think harassment by police is a minor thing, when its a pretty major cause of why crime is so rampant. When a black teenager is thrown in jail over something that a white teenager would probably get a warning for, you just ruined that kid's life. For nothing.

I'm sure a black person from that neighborhood going to the courthouse to report being harrassed by a police officer would have gone far. Probably to the nearest emergency room going by the worthless cops that work there.

5. Redirect your focus from rims, flat panels
I understand the meaning in regards to flat panels, to focus more on family instead of gaming and shows on monitors/tvs. But that was a little surprising in a tech site to hear about lessening dependence on flat panels or other monitors.

🙄 Is that what logic is called now? Right wing? I hope not.

Logic! Lol! You're the ignorant fuck who thinks because you don't have problems with police means that no one else should either if they just act right.

You live in a bubble and while you may not be a racist you are just as ignorant as one.

I guess everyone telling the mall cop and police officer that they got the wrong guy was just white guilt?

A bit off topic, not involving this case in MO, but this should be a wakeup call to those American's that ask if a peoples revolution in general is near?
That revolution between American citizen against the US government.
That revolution where so many American's feel the need to own guns, a lot of guns, a lot of big guns, with this illusion that some revolution could in any way succeed. haha
From this episode happening in MO, we clearly see the power of the local police department.
And most every major US city now has this very same tactical assault weaponry.
So American revolutionary man and woman, this is what you would be up against.
You, with guns and maybe your assault weapons, and them with armored vehicles.
Doesn't look too good. Hey?
Anyone care to bet odds on the winner or the outcome?

So, owning all those guns and assault weapons, the general public, really boils down to not that much of a big deal after all.
So much for that American revolution against the US government.

And the armored vehicles are just the beginning.
Who knows what other weaponry of mass destruction our local police department might have at their disposal?
All those weapons. Tactical assault weaponry.
You can bet the local police are not arming for a turkey shoot.
Gobble gobble.
