A bit off topic, not involving this case in MO, but this should be a wakeup call to those American's that ask if a peoples revolution in general is near?
That revolution between American citizen against the US government.
That revolution where so many American's feel the need to own guns, a lot of guns, a lot of big guns, with this illusion that some revolution could in any way succeed. haha
From this episode happening in MO, we clearly see the power of the local police department.
And most every major US city now has this very same tactical assault weaponry.
So American revolutionary man and woman, this is what you would be up against.
You, with guns and maybe your assault weapons, and them with armored vehicles.
Doesn't look too good. Hey?
Anyone care to bet odds on the winner or the outcome?

So, owning all those guns and assault weapons, the general public, really boils down to not that much of a big deal after all.
So much for that American revolution against the US government.

And the armored vehicles are just the beginning.
Who knows what other weaponry of mass destruction our local police department might have at their disposal?
All those weapons. Tactical assault weaponry.
You can bet the local police are not arming for a turkey shoot.
Gobble gobble.

Lol! The heavily armed police are the same heavily armed citizens, ie they have the same mentality. Not only that but the tea party retards who are stockpiling weapons are the same fucking morons voting in other fucking morons who support militarizing the police.

I welcome the revolution and can't wait to watch them fight amongst themselves and kill each other...Darwinism at its finest!

There's a reason you separate military and the police. One fights the enemies of the state, the other serves and protects the people. When the military becomes both, then the enemies of the state tend to become the people.

I disagree with Rand Paul often enough but I do like this, Rand Paul: We Must Demilitarize the Police. Its nice to see someone on capitol hill say something about the problem, I hope this becomes and stays a bipartisan issue.

"Soldiers and police are supposed to be different. … Police look inward. They’re supposed to protect their fellow citizens from criminals, and to maintain order with a minimum of force.
It’s the difference between Audie Murphy and Andy Griffith. But nowadays, police are looking, and acting, more like soldiers than cops, with bad consequences. And those who suffer the consequences are usually innocent civilians."

"Why would cops wear camouflage gear against a terrain patterned by convenience stores and beauty parlors? Why are the authorities in Ferguson, Mo. so given to quasi-martial crowd control methods (such as bans on walking on the street) and, per the reporting of Riverfront Times, the firing of tear gas at people in their own yards? (“‘This my property!’ he shouted, prompting police to fire a tear gas canister directly at his face.&#8221😉 Why would someone identifying himself as an 82nd Airborne Army veteran, observing the Ferguson police scene, comment that “We rolled lighter than that in an actual warzone”?

🙄 Is that what logic is called now? Right wing? I hope not.

Stop trying to be an ass. Not everyone that lives in a poor neighborhood wants to be there and many people simply cannot up and leave as you think they can. I seriously doubt that you can just up and leave where you live right now. Too many circumstances would prevent that. Also, these people aren't really having many kids (blacks do not have a lot of children compared to, say, Hispanics). Finally, many of the people in the poor neighborhoods are trying to do their best. You have a stereotype of them that is very unfair because you don't go there. Many are just good people that live in low income areas.

Both bear responsibility. That neighborhood where Brown was shot was an ABSOLUTE toxic environment, and the cops are the least of their concerns. The actual PEOPLE in that neighborhood are more of a threat than the cops, but you won't see that on the news because it isn't a sensational black vs white story. Facts are, the place was a dump where no child should be raised. Cops have to deal with that shit on a day to day basis. Quite honestly, I'd say fuck 'em. You think cops are out of control and just drive by shooting black people? Fine. I'll pull ALL of them out. Now you can deal with your own shit.

Now if you want to address the real problem, let's take a look to see how we can fix it.

1. If I lived in that neighborhood, I would have NEVER brought a child into that toxic environment. It's like throwing your kid in a lion's den and then crying when something bad happens. Is it sad that something happened? Yes, definitely. But WTF were you thinking putting him there in the first place. Throw cops out of the equations for a minute, now you have to deal with the other 95% of the toxic elements that are way more dangerous.

2. DO NOT cop an attitude with the police. Black, white, yellow, whatever. Don't do it. Stupid move. If you have a complaint, take it up in a court room. Wrong or right, doesn't matter. Your goal is to get back to living your life, not to complicate it.

3. Put in the work on yourself and get the fuck out of that environment. You DO NOT have to be rich to get an education. Libraries are free. My parents and friends are proof of that.

4. Quit having fucking kids! It only makes it that much more difficult to get out of the situation.

5. Redirect your focus from rims, flat panels, and Air Jordan's, and onto a strong core family unit with a focus on education.

6. Take responsibility for your actions. No one said everyone's path in life would require the same level of effort. But it is your responsibility to figure out the game of life and overcome your obstacles. The rich have it easier, deal with it. Now focus on what YOU need to do to get where you want to go.

Do black people get harassed more than whites? Most cases I'd say yes. Are there staggering statics showing black people killing black people at records levels? Yes. Now which one do you want to address first? Do you want to work on the 5% problem or the 95% problem? Again, it's just a distraction from the real problem.

Let's use a marathon metaphor, shall we.
Congratulations. You've succinctly explained how to get to the finish line of the marathon.

Of course almost none of the people you are referring to are actually at the starting line.

So how exactly does your advice help?

Generally speaking, directions to the start of a foot race are distributed at packet pickup. If you miss packet pickup you can usually get to the general area of a race and course marshals or people manning the water tables will direct you to last minute packet pickup and the start.

I'm not saying your metaphor is inaccurate, but in races as in life you're not left completely in the dark if you just ask some simple questions.

Tear gas is a chemical weapon banned in war. But Ferguson police shot it at protesters. Source link

Domestic riot control is specifically exempted.

9. "Purposes Not Prohibited Under this Convention" means:

(a) Industrial, agricultural, research, medical, pharmaceutical or other peaceful purposes;

(b) Protective purposes, namely those purposes directly related to protection against toxic chemicals and to protection against chemical weapons;

(c) Military purposes not connected with the use of chemical weapons and not dependent on the use of the toxic properties of chemicals as a method of warfare;

(d) Law enforcement including domestic riot control purposes.

i imagine they tactically didnt want those bright ass lights shining at them....but not commenting on how that was corrected.....

and? who fucking cares? that did not justify the police doing what they did. shooting them with rubber bullets then gassing them?

just no justification.

If thats what you call logic, I just see victim blaming.

Funny how you think harassment by police is a minor thing, when its a pretty major cause of why crime is so rampant. When a black teenager is thrown in jail over something that a white teenager would probably get a warning for, you just ruined that kid's life. For nothing.

I'm sure a black person from that neighborhood going to the courthouse to report being harrassed by a police officer would have gone far. Probably to the nearest emergency room going by the worthless cops that work there.

Wrong. There is police harassment because crime is so rampant. It's not the other way around. Why aren't Asians being harassed?

Make the assumption that the courthouse will not listen to ANYONE in that community because they spend most of their time arresting everyone there. So now that you know that, what is your next move?

A. Protest
B. Complain about it while ignoring the crack head around the corner that keeps trying to break into your house, or the drug dealer shooting up other black people.
C. Have more kids
D. Put your head down, and do everything you can to get the fuck out of that neighborhood.

3 of those option will only make YOUR situation worse, and require MUCH less effort than the 4th.

Wrong, as soon as you are born, you're at the starting line. Now the question is, what does it take to get to the finish line. Some will have it easier than others, and some will just give up. How does my advise help? It's a workout out program that gives you the best chances to cross that finish line.

If you were born poor, it was not your fault but if you die poor, it is your fault - who said that? Bill Gates. (damn racist bastard) :whiste: <tongue in cheek>

Change it to golf. Some of us start at the ladies tees, others start 2 holes back ... that is more appropriate.

If we said this movement was about "police militarization" or "police misconduct" I would be fine. But the fact we are doing the "hands up don't shoot me, we are all Mike Brown" is bullshit. Where were all these people when black people kill each other? Where are all these people when a house gets burglarized or a person gets robbed?
