Or maybe it's 5, I forget. This movie sorta snuck into theaters (not advertising like crazy like one would think). Local theaters only have 4 showings a day for MI4 and 13-15 showings a day for Sherlock Holmes (lame movies :O). For a big action movie that's very few showings.

94% on rotten tomatoes!

Seems to be little buzz about this one though (couldn't find any threads about it either). Anyways, I'm gonna go see it now. I shall report back later probably.

I would have watched it anyways, but that's awesome that it's been reviewed so well.

Sorry, can't buy Tom as a middle-aged action hero. His time for playing roles like that are long past. Might watch it when it shows up on HBO.

Then next generation is not stepping forward, unless you include denutted vampire flix, so I will take what I get. All the current actions flix have OLD actors.

Is it like MI1 or MI2 and MI3? If it's a mystery action like MI1 it will be worth watching but if it's action porn like MI2 and MI3 it will be terrible.

The guy is in ridiculous condition, he'd probably outrun and outclimb 99% of the lazy twenty-somethings out there. That said, he's a nutter, and you can definitely see his age in his face now.

I saw the movie last night (brother wanted to see it for his birthday). It's utterly ridiculous, but plenty of fun anyway. I'd say it leans more towards comedy than serious by a fair amount. The final action sequence is hilarious rather than tense.

I think it shows they know how silly the whole premise of it all actually is, and they had fun with it. We have the Bourne and Bond movies for more serious secret-agent action anyway.

I'd give it 7.5/10 probably. There were a few things about it that veered beyond ridiculous and served no purpose other than to make you groan.

example :

The main bad guy, some very middle-aged politico type who looks like he's never seen a gym in his life, is somehow magically an amazing close-quarters fighter against a combat-specialist secret agent? Pfffft.

Neither. It has plenty of action, but it's more comedy/light hearted than anything else.

I loved the third one. Will most likely see this one as well.
The 2nd one was an abomination.

Looking forward to this one. Btw you can buy the mission impossible Blu rays from best buy online ( in store pickup) for 10 each right now. All have a 10 buck coupon you can use at fandango too so they're essentially free if you go to movies.
