MI3 was pretty solid, this one doesn't seem so much so, but I'm a fan of the series so I'll be seeing it.

EDIT:

PSH made most of #3. Without him as the villain it probably wouldn't have been as good as it was.

MI1 was decent. MI2 was horrible. MI3 was bad, but not as bad as 2. Really, the Tom Cruise "Mission Impossible" movies are Mission Impossible in name only, sharing few if any traits with the TV show they are allegedly based on.

Oh, and the worst thing about MI3 wasn't the face switching, it was the fact that somehow putting on a mask caused Tom Cruise to grow from 5' 4" tall to like 6' 1". Even a perfect facial mask couldn't hide the fact that the protagonist is 9" shorter than the antagonist.

wait, what? people liked MI1-2 and not 3?

three is the only one that even vaguely qualifies as cinema. tom cruise, for once, actually seemed pretty into it, and phillip seymore hoffman was great, and the script was leagues ahead of the others.

yeah, i actually thought 3 was decent. no idea why I watched it, though...it was on or something?

I never saw the first one and the 2nd was terrible.

the first one, i'm not convinced has a plot. the second one, i'm sure of it. also it just got john-woo-on-crack retarded even though the action wasn't interesting.

I loved 1 and 3.
Yes, 2 was retarded. Except the opening scene. I actually white knuckled the armrest in the theater. After that, the movie went to pure shit.

I'm looking forward to this one.

No Maggie Q or Ving Rhames?

Its a movie. Focusing on any one point could make any movie terrible.

That said, for a movie like this, it is a safe assumption a lot of unrealistic things will be in the film. If you went in expecting something different, that is your own fault.

I find what makes a movie bad is when they destroy their own plot or big part of their storyline. I dont think anything irks me more. A good example from a Tom Cruise film is War of the Worlds. They spent a good chunk of the movie pointing out how terrible the relationship between Tom and his son was, then they repaired it, and at the first shot the kid wants to leave and possibly kill himself, Tom is just like COOL BRO. Retarded.

JJ Abrams was writer for MI:4, so it should be good.

he also directed the 3rd one. I thought the 3rd one was much much better than the 2nd one (holy crappy use of slow-mo). But I don't like how JJ Abrams always leaves out a key piece. Such as the rabbit's ear - the entire movie is about getting the rabbits ear back, but we never find out what the rabbit's ear is.

Huh? Why didn't people like 3? 3 was solid.

2 was a fucking explosion-everywhere garbage. If you disliked 3, 2 is a pile of Miachel Bay shit wannabe by John Woo.

This. #2 was horrible by all accounts. #3 brought it back to a decent standing and was really well shot and put together. I'm looking forward to #4.

Looks retarded. I thought the first one was the best, and everything is just downhill from there. Who's the chick though? She's gorgeous.
