The "tolerant" are really only tolerant as long as you agree with them. Diversity in everything but opinion.

We have sunken to the point where calling someone names is considered a valid counter-argument. What Mario (aka Perez) should have done is provide justification for supporting gay marraige. Instead what these people do is label anyone who doesn't agree with them as "hateful", which, in their minds, invalidates any argument that the person might have.

She does now. She's lobbying for NOM, which is that group that put out that hysterical "There's a gay marriage storm coming" web ad and supports a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage.

The comparison to interracial marriage is poor comparison IMHO. The traditional view on marriage is a man and a woman. Not a white man and a white woman or a black man and a black woman. It is an apples to oranges comparison.

Personally, I think government needs to get the hell out of the marriage business. Why do we have to have marriage recognized by the government? We don't. It's just another form of taxation and control and these sort of problems are inevitable because of it.
