I honestly never notice during game play. I can see it clearly in still screen shots, but when I play games I never use AA. When I turn it on I have to look for the differences. Like I said, I like games for games. Also, I play mostly RTS and RPG style games, I don't care for FPS much. I think for some people depending on the style of the game you play different graphics option might be more important.

I'm sure I'm in the minority, but graphics are just one piece of the pie for me. One of my good friends is probably one of the bigger gamers I know, he still gets by on an Opteron 165 and 7900GS. Different priorities in computer gaming I guess...

No you've got it wrong. Apparently realistic curtains are where its at!! ;)

So what new feature in the last few year has impressed you?

I think you would be happy with integrated graphics and not need to spend the extra on a seperate video card as resolution/AA/AF/etc. don't add anything to gameplay.

I'd have to disagree with you in regards to resolution/AA/AF adding nothing to gameplay. I would get much more immersed in a game at 1920x1200 4AA/16AF than I would at 800x600 0AA/0AF. Come on Wreckage, you have to admit that resolution and AA/AF add something to the realism of the game.

I'm stuck playing Crysis on my lappy and it's less immersive when I have to turn the resolution down to get decent frames. Phsyx is a cool idea but at this point in time I will look at cards that will play games smoothly at the resolutions I want with the eye-candy cranked up.

You must be new to this forum. There are plenty of threads discussing 2x vs 4x vs 8xAA. Adaptive AA. Transparency AA. etc.

I did not see you in those threads saying AA sucks, who cares, etc.

I'm still waiting for your response to my question by the way. If PhysX is so unimpressive. What is impressive? I'm curious as to what your benchmark is.

What do they add to gameplay? Since that seems to be the banner of the detractors for game physics.

For the record I love eye candy even if it does nothing for game play. I use AA/AF/Physx and the highest resolution my monitor will support.

Although I think game physics can and will add more to game play than any other technology we have seen lately. Unless they truly get 3D glasses/monitors going.

I dont' mean to speak for anyone else, but I think I answered this one... the potential of what it could mean for gaming is very impressive. What is out there now that uses Physx is not impressive.

It's already adding more realism to games more so than say DX9 to DX10.

Have you played War Monger, Graw2, Unreal Tournament III, etc? With PhysX enabled?

I know why certain people are complaining, so I'm not too surprised. I will stop feeding them and letting them derail yet another PhysX thread. If you don't like it fine. Start a thread about how much it sucks.

You've just answered your question about AA.

If it just worked in those games then yes, I would say it was pretty unimportant.

So if you know why certain people are complaining I'd like you to enlighten the rest of us.

lol at people downplaying PhysX.

lol at people getting excited about a few demo's and a game thats at best Meh.

I dont really care about the gameplay. This game doesnt interest me in the least. However seeing titles using this technology is worthy of discussion. Dont be such a luddite. It is coming and we should all be excited.

So your just interested in what Physx may or may not do in the future?

Fair enough, but I've heard enough hype from NV and ATI about how their new feature 'will change the way you use your computer?' so you'll forgive me if i wait until theres something out to be excited about.

Well I cant say ATI and Nvidia havent blown some hot air at us. But this technology is here, is being used, and will be used in upcoming titles. This short demo video looked pretty cool and it will only get better.

People aren't complaining about physX. They are just telling that at this time it has 0 influence on the choice of a graphic card because it has about 0 impact in games.

They add to gameplay by making the game more realistic. Jagged polygons and blurry shapes detract from the gameplay for me as I'm sure they do for tons of people. That's not to say that crystal clear graphics are the only necessity for immersion, but I don't think your arguement that they add nothing is valid.

To be honest I really did not think you would have an answer.

Thanks for the link! Watching the demo, I realized this was a Nvidia release using an EA game.

Yeah. TT what have you been impressed with... All these new graphic cards from the last few years didn't add anything.

Shame on you nVidia and ATI. You made graphic cards that handled better looking games. TT you should been doing graphic cards that made coffee and implementing voice control. And how could you not add blu-ray capability to the current generation of graphic cards?!?!

 WTF are you talking about? You seem so caught up in your petty Nv Vs ATI battle that you cant think any other way.

Just because I'm not that impressed with physX's showing so far doesn't mean I'm plotting the overthrow of Nv.

You really should stop investing so heavily emotionally in video cards.
