I believe in them. I've seen them happen and have been a part of several such occurences. People can chalk it up to whatever they wish, but I'll always know how and why it really happened.

There is no proof that faith healing actually works. Just as many, if not more, people who are prayed for, and have strong faith, NEVER receive healing.
Now hit me with "God works in mysterious ways."
Just because you can't explain something doesn't automatically mean "God did it."

I believe that it is possible for a person to have faster recovery from illness if they try to stay happy and keep a positive attitude. Prayer or faith can help some people keep a positive state of mind, but for other people it could be boobs, beer, or their favorite pet.
But faith healing alone it a load of crap.
Do you know what it says about Jesus when He went back to His homeland? He couldn't perform many miracles there; He was astonished by their lack of faith. It is a two way street man. You have to have faith that God will heal you if you're going to receive it. If you're doubting, why would you get healed, you're saying that you don't think God is capable of doing it.
The irony of this is that your whole existence can be chalked up to neuro-chemicals.Originally posted by: engineereeyore

I have faith that you're beliefs are no better than doze's.
I'm not saying you have to agree with me, I'm just speaking truth. You can choose to ignore truth, or you can accept it, but you can't deny it. So, you chose to ignore it coming from me; the bible says faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. I can't judge your heart, but I can and will pray that you will hear the word of God so that you can come to know that whom the Son set free is free indeed.

You both just said the same thing.

Actually I'm saying it doesn't hurt anything, but also does not necessarily help anything either. Anybody who looks for one single solution to a problem needs to evaluate their thought process.
Uning your method of thinking - What if god made certain people to become doctors? What if god intends people to be surgeons so they are born with especially steady hands, patience, calm under pressure etc.... Is it wrong to believe in the skills of a surgeon, the skills given to him/her by god. We are all god's creatures right????
Personally I would say a few prayers then go under the knife.
Good point. Well said.Originally posted by: IAteYourMother

There was a girl at my church whose tear ducts were opened upon receiving Christ into her live. She had never been able to cry before that day. She actually thought something was wrong with her when the tears started streaming down her face.
Also another lady was healed of deafness at my church too.

To be honest, i am VERY skeptical of most people that claim they have "healing powers" however, i do believe that there have been a few people throughout the ages that did have the power to heal.
I do believe in prayer and in my own life i have seen a loved one benefit from it, when all doctors were at the end of their treatments, nothing else was available to be done... and all of a sudden, the illness was gone. Even the most well respected dr's were shocked and had no idea how it happened.
I really hate to be a cynic, but just because something can't be explain by science immediately does not mean that it can't be explained by science. A man much wiser than I said, "any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic"Originally posted by: DaShen

No, it's a bunch of hooey. The only believable aspect of it is the placebo effect.
I'm not surprised that you say that, your handle is named after a demon and your sig is anti-Christian.
What ever it was that turned you against God did a number on you, and I hope you get past it one day and realize that He came to set the captives free, He didn't come to bring bondage.
