mini rc helicopter ~$31

Here is a Video of them: Mini RC Helicopter

LOL! Has anyone WATCHED this video? You see the helicopter for about 2.76 seconds as it sits on the ground and takes off. Then it's just a blur of mad camera work! If the camera is actually following the "aircraft", it ends up hard on the ground. Beautiful!!

Don't forget to take your Dramamine before watching.

I HAVE to get this... but I'll probably wait until I go to Taiwan next month to look for it.

HAHA.. I just watched the video. It looks like the helicopter attacked whoever was filming it. 🙂

Unfortunately it doesn't seems like it has very good control. But then again, this is why it's 30$ and not 600$...

Boiler the one in the original post looks like it has a steering wheel on the controller. Kind of like the ones used on rc cars. It says 2 channel on the site. The one you posted clearly doesn't have the wheel. That is the one I have or had should I say. Also it doesn't say 2 channel radio anywhere that I can see.

Yes you are right, I didn't notice the steering wheel, it has separate steering control unlike the one earlier.

We have went on several search and destroy missions and come up empty handed.

haha

same thing happened to me on my first "Firebird XL" flight

lost it first 2 minutes into the flight (wind took it over the forest), found it 1/2 hour later by reving the engine and following the sound, it must have been a 1/2 a mile away into wooded area.
I have since then been too scared to fly her again.

that copters description is very decieving "turn left and right" not at will thought.

I wish there was a midrange ($100-$200) helicopter solution that at least has some semblance of control (up, down, rotate left and right)

peace video this is what i want

I wonder how many sets of blades you have to go through to be able to control the sucker like that. 🙂

i've looked at rc helo's. this is the equivalent of a fancy windup. you get what you pay for. a microhelo is 200 plus dollars. these are like those little planes that you rev up on the charger and then throw. lots and lots of fun.

but the fun of a helo is, well, hovering. and if that's what you are after, look elsewhere.

Cool video! I liked the hovering parts the most. The reverse landings were cool too. I think I could watch a helicopter hover all day long. 🙂 I'm probably going to get the Piccolo or Heli-star... eventually...

The helo can fly upside down prolly because the guy has the cyclic set up to move through positive angle of attack to negative angle of attack.

Also that's a fueled motor, not electric like the helo in this thread.

Unless you are already a intermediate, which I don't get the feeling that you are, you do NOT want a picolo or other minature/electric helicopter. The only small helicopter suitable for a begginer it a lite machines 100 or whatever they call it now. Otherwise, get a very cheap .30 size heli.

Bigger = more stable, less responsive if set up in begginer config.

I found a similar one here: paramountzone

In the description it says

"Do not fly it in the direction of other people as injuries could occur. The control method does not allow for accurate left/right flying."

That one looks like it has only one channel, so there would be no left-right control. The controller doesn't have the steering wheel.

I fly a Raptor 30. I dreamed of having an RC heli as a kid... two years back I remembered that I could afford one finally. It took me the entire first summer of flying twice a week to get to take off, hover, fly forward, and turn left and right. This hobby is not easy. But there's nothing more thrilling than watching your mini-heli hover 30 feet above you, and then take off into a huge banked turn, and then flip upside down and crash into a tree.
