Seriously though, I watched one episode and there were some funny parts, but the more episodes I watch, the more he's just coming off as loud, annoying, and ignorant.

Chappelle had a white writer that helped him was a lot of the skits, I can't remember his name though Goosemaster.

I don't like Mind of Mencia. His skits where he goes on the street where talks to people are funny, but when he climbs up on his soapbox and preaches to "Achmed" he sounds like a 5th grader with a need to feel better about himself. He seems he's the kind of guy who grew up in a white community which made him insecure about being a "beloved patriot" and now he jokes about it to overcome his own issues. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but anyway the comedy is immature (in a bad unintentional way) and underdeveloped.

Mencia has been doing his stand up routines for close to 8 years now. His show goes over that. Some parts are just bleh like the dee dee dee awards while some segments are nice. It's just something new so I'm happy.

Looks like a hastily slapped together half ass replacement for the Chapelle show, the commercial with the tag line "funnier than chappelle show!" seemed to indicate that is exactly what it is.

why does it have to be he is trying to be another Chappelle? Chappelle is in his peer group/competition so of course he's going to dog him...just like leno/letterman/carson/et al.

I think the guy is funny at times and not so funny at times, like most comedians.

Saying he totally sucks is someone just stroking themselves to play a part.
