new rhetoric ramping it up from the white house "The US will aim to "crush" Iran with economic and military pressure unless it changes its behavior in the Middle East, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said Monday."

Pompeo can say whatever he wants. China won't reimpose sanctions, neither with Russia.

Looking like the EU as a whole has zero interest in doing anything above the absolute minimum that avoids a conflict with their large companies but will create workarounds for medium/small firms to still do biz. More importantly perhaps that Europe will not stop buying Iranian oil.

The US continues to get weaker by the day under Trump.

Pompeo's Iran demands below. And we wonder why people have trouble taking us seriously these days. Europe is right to laugh at and ignore us as much as possible.

WTF is with point ten? Al Qaeda and the Taliban are Sunni terrorists under the wing of Saudi Arabia. This list is obviously for American domestic consumption not a serious negotiating position.

That's the "Go ahead & do it, Bitch!" negotiating tactic, right? It worked great with N Korea, didn't it?

The whole thing is contrived for domestic political purposes. It worked for the Bushistas, didn't it?

Yes, cause there is no plan.

I doubt the Israelis have flown any missions in Iranian air space. Syria & Lebanon are a different story.

They may have not started using F-35' but they are likely using Syria as a testbed in prep for Iranian incursions. There were rumors that they had already poked and prodded Iranian airspace with F-35s but they denied it. Even if they did actually violate Iranian airspace they would likely deny it.

This week has been quiet on the Iran front. Israel is being quiet as Trump is currently preoccupied with North Korea. I suspect Netanyahu will give Trump some time for the North Korean fiasco to blow over before he starts beating the Iran war drum again. My prediction: the rhetoric and saber rattling will ramp up in earnest starting in August sometime.

Wild card: Mueller's investigation. Who knows how the fallout of that investigation will affect the Trump administration's stance on Iran.
