i just took my power supply apart and found no way to tweak up the power as shown in that psu mod... so we are SOL in that dept.

i took some pics and am happy to post them or email if anyone wants. need to tone down the brightness a bit but they came out fairly well.

computer,look at junthin's post right above yours,about the standoff's. also if ~~~ the screws were inst~~~ed it wouldn't be a clone.also if your p.s. isn't noisy it's dead.

There are some who say that the modded cases (i.e. w/ window and light) come pre-installed from the seller. Yet there are others who say that they ship you a window kit and light when you order the modded case.

Can anyone who has actually "received" the case clarify this issue?

Thanks

Trying to resist the urge to buy this thing... I think that the amt of dremel disks and time I'd go through to cut out a window and the cost of a window kit makes the $25 cost still a good deal. Not blazing hot, but well priced in light of the time it'd save me.

These guys are the slowest guys I know. I ordered the case from them a week ago and Internet order status thingy still doesn't show up yet. (it says up to 48hrs) but its been a week. I emailed them 1/2 a week ago but haven't gotten a reply yet. Only thing I got from them since I ordered was a confirmation email. Im pretty sure its not shipped yet because I only live an hour away from them and would probably get the case the day after its been shipped.

Im just wondering, how long did it take for you guys to get your case from the day you ordered it? Should it be taking this long for it to get shipped? Getting kinda worried i'll have to deal with them through the phone since I heard of how $4!tty their CS is.

I know somebody in this post said it too them a week from when they ordered it, but i like to know from others as well

<< just wondering, how long did it take for you guys to get your case >>

i ordered on 18-apr-2002 and received on 25-apr-2002 and 26-apr-2002. both were standard no-window, no-neon black cases. both cases were shipped to Miami, FL.

i had no such problems with their Customer Service. my calls were answered quickly and they were very competent. i don't know who had any problems with them either.

just CALL and find out the status, it takes 2mins!

just to answer a few questions for the wondering minds....

1. I ordered my case on Apr.19/2002 and got it on Apr.25/2002...and that was with them screwing up my order...i called them about the online tracking and they took a look into my file and found that my shipping address was different from my billing address, so they could not ship it "yet". I told them to just send it to my billing address then. I called them on Apr.22 after getting a tracking # that didn't work on the 21th. So I was kinda impressed that it got here on the 25th. However, they forgot to include the neon light, so i called them again and was told that it will be shipped right away. That was on the 25th, and will give them till the end of the week before another phone call (since the light is not a big deal--would be nice tho).

2. I ordered my case when i noticed they changed the website to include the words "installed" for the window...and yet sure enough, my window came installed. If you look at other places, the cheapest you can find them installing windows is about $30....so $25 extra for the window installed is not bad at all. It's quite a big window btw.

I also noticed that the psu(?) is loud, but after a few day of usage, i got used to it. i'm used to my laptop at work (quiet as a mouse), so i am a little bias towards any loud pc. like i said, you get used to it....maybe i will get one of those "whisper" psu and see the difference. until then, the games i played make my room sound like a battle field, so it's no big deal.

Oh, everytime i called, i either get a sexy girl's voice or a guy's voice. my sales rep is wayne and he's a little *uhm* annoyed half the time, but eager to get you off his back. so call if you haven't recieve your case after a week of ordering.

Ordered Saturday night, and just went back to the page and noticed that prices on silver and black colored cases went up. Now it's $5 extra for a black case, and $10 extra for a silver one, same price for beige :(

<< Of course that's a different ps, but most DO have pots on them. Looking a few here now, they do. They are usually about the diameter of a pencil eraser. What I don't see on that page at that link is to use a NON-CONDUCTIVE screw driver!!! Even with devices off, it's still a good habit to get into, and many times large caps can hold a big charge for days, even weeks. I have a plastic one specifically made for pot adjustments and I've also used small wooden dowels with the tip chiseled when I couldn't find my plastic ones. >>

Gee, I sure like to know where the pots are here or here. I don't see any as far as I can tell. It's pics of the PSU that comes with this case btw.

greatwolf as i said in my post on GotApex and here on AT (and those are my pics of the PSU)... there appears to be no such easily adjustable pots. i looked as best as i could and found none. i am not an EE but i took some EE classes in college and i have a good idea what to look for, and found nothing promising.

take yours apart and see if you can find anything, its really simple to take it apart!

Still a nice case but a shame that they started charging different prices for different colors... wonder what makes black plastic/paint less expensive than silver.

lil al, ps is ok, I hooked a mobo up to it. (Ok, I see where Junthin edited his post about the stand-offs. I didn't see that he edited it until after I posted the question on it). Thanks, that explains the stand-offs.

Iaccord, their support sucks. Look earlier in this thread on how bad their ratings are & about tracking. You have to email them DAILY and ask for a tracking #. Their site is screwed up.

The reason they jacked the prices up is because we are buying them! Jerks. I will say one thing for the company.....the shipping $ is GREAT if you want multiple cases. Still stays $18 regardless of how many ordered!! That's a *10* there. (The shipping stayed the same at least in my order and for a couple other guys in this thread).

ANOTHER price hike. Case is now $65 + shipping, not $55 + shipping. Not to mention the previously additions to black and silver colored cases. Deal is getting cooler and cooler by the days

just a little side note:

The psu is a cwt 420, which is the same exact psu in an antec sx1040 (w/o the smart fan)

Excellent deal!

Got my silver one! It's very nice, albeit quite noisy. I'll be looking for replacement fans for the power supply.

$55 was a STEAL for this case.

hahah.

It's all economics folks...... supply and demand.... too many people are ordering the black case....... and the supply is dwindling.

=========================================
the power supply may be made by channel well, but it is only HALF identical to the antec psu, and also 50% louder (probably), and 2x the number of fans...

FYI......

And for those that don't have a motherboard to test the power supply...... all you need to do is get a sandwich bag wire and short the GREEN wire with any one of the BLACK ground wires in the ATX connector. Plug it in and flip the switch, and watch the baby blow....

link, let's keep it out of the micro level of economics... first semester econ courses don't account for the market of many vendors, many of whom have more reputable names and will sell this same (black) case for $69.

Newegg... look for the DX-01WD (avail with or without PSU)
