Slow's article only addresses one of these, which is point #2. The author claims that by conditioning AIDS funding on also providing money “directed toward those institutions which provide assistance to those seeking to change their sexual behavior” that Pence was referring to promiscuity and unprotected sex, not male/male relations. If so, I have no idea what "institutions" he was referring to. Also difficult to explain why Pence has never come out and said he doesn't believe in/support gay conversion therapy given that he's been accused of supporting it for decades now. If this author is correct, it would seem some clarification from Pence is in order. It's been 19 years now and AFAIK Pence has not bothered to set the record straight.

It doesn't address any of these other points. It does address some wild remarks made by a few Pence opponents about how Pence allegedly wants to put gays in concentration camps. Seeking out the most extreme comments to refute, and cherry-picking from real information, are classic propaganda techniques.

Something reminded me of this thread and this interview.. 4:50 to about 7:20 is the important part. You watch that and tell me Pence isn't anti-homosexual. He props up a law that protects religious freedom for his state that doesn't recognize homosexuals as a protected class. He tries to point out Obama as a counter example, while never addressing that in Illinois homosexuals are a protected class there, to defend himself. He is asked point blank whether he will compensate for this for adding homosexuals as a protected class. The answer was no. The adjustments he made were based entirely on external factors because of the blow back he received, blow back he initially tried to poo poo away.

@SlowSpyder

8:00 - 10:20 for supplemental listening, around 9:55 if you are lazy. Should it be legal in the state of Indiana to discriminate against homosexuals... Pence is facing fourth down and punts. It's a yes or no question. Pence continues to punt.

Around 10:50 he is asked point blank again if it is ok to discriminate against homosexuals again, he again punts.

Gee... I wonder if he thinks that's all good in the nonhomosexual neighborhood. Who started this thread again? The most intelligent poster in P&N. Tell me it isn't so ... Slow couldn't possibly have been taken in that easily.

Edit:

We should shed ourselves of this blight known as the most intelligent poster in P&N

1) Turn all of those laughing emojis on this OP around to signify we know this is bull plop.

2) Stop replying to the most intelligent poster in P&N and hope he just goes away out of boredom. I don't have high hope on this one as I assume his life must really suck. Fuck @SlowSpyder .. hashtag.

It’s not though. Respecting someone’s constitutionally guaranteed rights of religion doesn’t mean they are anti gay. The baker very well may be anti gay (obviously is) but the court made the correct decision that someone shouldn’t be forced to created something that goes against their religious beliefs.

It is though. It might be pro-religion, and it might even be the right interpretation of the Constitution (I actually disagree, but I think it can be argued in good faith) but it is most definitely anti-gay. Religion and anti-discrimination came into direct opposition in that case. SCOTUS had to choose to either be anti-religion or anti-gay. They made a choice. I feel it was the wrong one.

https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/mik...-a-gay-man-who-knows-hes-been-falsely-accused

Good opinion piece by a member of the LGBT community. The author admits that Pence didn't handle the Indiana Religious Freedoms Restoration Act as well as he could have, but then points out numerous times our Vice President went out of his way to protect the LGBT community.

"Opponents of the law claimed it would allow any business in Indiana to refuse service to members of the LGBT community simply by citing “deeply held beliefs.” Of course, that wasn’t the case, but the false narrative spread across the nation, sparking outrage.

Pence went on the offensive, declaring: “If I saw a restaurant owner refuse to serve a gay couple, I wouldn't eat there anymore,” while calling for a détente between advocates of religious liberty and those working toward LGBT equality."

Just another example of the left creating bigotry that fits their narrative. Keep the plantation alive, keep creating victims. The real racism, the real bigotry comes from the left today.

Mike Pence is so homophobic, he blames global warming on the AIDS quilt.

Haha fucking conversion therapy. Mike Pence is an insane bigot who believes God speaks to him. Fanatics are dangerous!

It appears to normal folks like these backwoods evangelicals believe that torturing their children to be straight is necessary to save their souls. No thanks SlowSpyder I don't need to be force fed y'alls religious bullshit.
