This is all a learning curve for me. I made some really bad moves like scouting and lost 2 of my 3 hero's for a day. Also for the first 3 days I did not play I had to go to a wedding which was mine so I had to be there for that 😉. I like this game just a tad slow but getting into it.

Had the cheesy send mail to others quest yesterday, at least it gave me a couple K gold. Now I've got one for winning a decisive victory to get a couple medium level units, just have no idea of how to get that level of victory.
 
Decisive, or crushing? Is it the one where you need the bonus to be twice the strength of the opposing unit stack or something?

Also, is the game down for anyone else?
 
I can't defeat any of the squares in my outer ring. my guys are just weak. i have 75 skeleton archers going up against 1 stupid Lich or something and they lose. is there a secret to clearing the outer rings? plz help before newb protect is removed or i am toast
 
I had a battle glitch last night. I re-ordered my stack in the attack window to use troop bonuses, and then clicked attack and went to sleep. Woke up this morning and the battle had gone through but without the stack changes, so what would have been a major victory ended up a heavy defeat 🙁. Lots of units lost.

Might be that's why the servers are down?

Build more guys...only attack the squares that you have an advantage on

ie if you have no/low cavalry ignore squares with lots of shooters

be patient until you do have a big enough army to win

use the combat calculator

building is good - but I need to figure out what to build in my outer squares. I don't really know what to make.

research towers next to your mines

prereq - builder

In hindsight my 2nd hero should've been Builder/Barbarian/Merchant
 
I'll have to wait till o get home and can read the quest again, but was playing with the calculator and couldn't seem to get much more than a medium victory there even when constantly adding excessive troops.

I was having the same trouble.
 
Should I be wrorried that half my land is nothing but ready for the spring plant while the other half still covered in forest?
