I hate the "buy to boost" premise of so many new MMOs. Kind of takes the point out of leveling if others can buy their way through it and decimate.

I may sign up if I like the game enough. It looks like the free account is limited to 3 towns and 3 heroes (at least without waiting a long period of time).

Yes, that's what I was saying, you are limited to 3 heroes and 3 towns unless you subscribe (or wait a long time). I don't mind too much right now, getting too many heroes would increase the time investment quite a bit.

I found out that the alliance limit will raise to 21 when we get 50K points. Not sure what happens after that (another member every 50K points?).

EDIT: By the way, ATOT is now ranked #3 on the server, and we're not even full yet!!

why's it take forever to do stuff in this game? fucking 3 hours to get a hero? wtf is that?

i'm downloading homm 5 right now... never played it. played homm 3 and a couple other ones... realized the other ones sucked balls, so i stuck with homm 3. i heard homm 5 is very similar to 3, just updated, so i'm gonna play that.

it's been forever since i've played a homm game (i must have been like 16 or so? i think i even took some time to play my freshman year of undergrad)... i just found out about homm 6 being released next year and got excited.
