Mig-15 in the snow

This is just wrong... :(

What a mean thing to do to such a nice airplane. Granted, the guy who owns this has more money than sense, but still, why?

EDIT: This is what the airport looks like right now. No flying today, how dreary...

Addison Airport

FYI, this Mig-15 is privatly owned and is in flying condition. It is kept at the flight museum at Addison Airport.

They left this F-105 Thunderchief also sitting outside. :|

i'm sure the air temp they fly in at those high altitudes is much colder

Russia = cold as balls with lots of snow

What's a little snow gonna hurt? That's like seeing a polar bear sitting on a block of ice surrounded by his own frozen sh!t while snow falls down around him and remarking "Oh, he must be cold"

The plane will probably fly w/ a couple inches of ice on the wings, a little water wont hurt it.

True, but the Russians never really took that great care of their equipment anyway. It just seems a shame.

If that plane belonged to me, it would be in a nice toasty heated hanger.

BTW, even if the Mig-15 can sit outside, what about the F-105 Thunderchief?

I'd rather have it be cold and wet than warm and wet (see Vietnam).

The Thunderchief was nicknamed the "Thud" b/c of the sound one would make if it crashed. The Thunderchief is/was the largest single engine jet put into service and it was pretty damn tough. A little bit of snow ain't gonna hurt it.

This is like the one day in Texas where DFW will get any snow for the year :) Its more sleet than snow now anyways :\

My grandad will back his Lexus up to his garden and toss vegetables straight out of the ground into the trunk. Sometimes that gets full so he'll use the back seat.

i dunno... i bet the NKs are... and telling their pilots that they're the best flying machines ever... and forbidding them from training in any method except flying a race track circuit in clear weather during the day.
