That is probably the closest thing to snow that we will see in addison this year. Is that MIG always there? I knew it got loud sometimes, but I didn't know that was the cause.

I might have to take a trip out there someday.

Yep, they also have a Mig-17, an F-86 Saber, an F-4 Phantom II, etc.

The guy who owns the place is worth far too much money for his own good. Started it years ago as a way to justify his toys, now he owns one of the nicest collections of airplanes in the South.

He has one of the nicest B-25 bombers around and it flies. You can even take rides in it (if you have the cash of course, I think it is $300/hr or something like that)

What else, I know they have a P-51 Mustang, a Me-109, a P-47 Thunderbolt, and a bunch of other planes too that I can't think of.

They do rides and flights and stuff all the time, always wanted to go up in the P-51 Mustang, but it is a thousand bucks an hour. :( :( :(

What a mean thing to do to such a nice airplane. Granted, the guy who owns this has more money than sense, but still, why?

EDIT: This is what the airport looks like right now. No flying today, how dreary...

FYI, this Mig-15 is privatly owned and is in flying condition. It is kept at the flight museum at Addison Airport.

They left this F-105 Thunderchief also sitting outside. :|

F-105
How about a "Grand Old Birds" thread?
There's a couple of air museums around...

;)

I'd rather go up in the P-47 than the P-51. For some silly reason I've always had a thing for the flying brick. That and the P-48J. :)

Yep, it sure is...

I went to Oshkosh last summer and was amazed to watch the climb rate of the F4U vs. the P-51. The P-51 climbed out at a reasonably impressive rate, then the F-4U took off after it and caught up to it while climbing three times as fast.

The P-51 is a nice airplane with a nice engine on the front. The F4U is a big ass engine with a plane stuck to the back of it. :D :D :D

Long time since I've seen an F-105...

Boeing leaves both a B-19 and a B-47 parked outside their air museum in Seattle. Fortunately, the Blackbird is kept inside :)

I wouldn't wanna fly anything with a red star on it...even if it were an airshow... With my luck, someone would think I was a communist and try to shoot me down. :Q

Those are some old planes. Especially the Mig.
