my oldest is 14 and they want 35 for the year book. 60 bucks is way out of line. I hope they are hardback books. if you spend that much and its a paper back i would raise holy hell.

i have my elem, middle and hs year books.

I think that's more than most high school yearbooks even these days. And no, I personally never even bought my yearbooks, let alone held onto them. I wasn't poor, I just put my $$$ toward other things and haven't cared since. 🙂

$60 is pretty steep for middle school yearbook. I didn't care all that much for mine since most of my friends moved on with me to the same high school or we were neighbors anyway. My high school one costed about $50 if I remember and it had a nice cover, glossy pages and coupons too in the back.

The problem with keeping middle school years books is that there will be pics of kids in there that your child will have had a crush on. Thirty years later your kid feel like pervert when looking at the yearbook and those feeling resurface.

confession?

in high school we had to pay 50 bucks and that would give us ASB membership and a yearbook. In middle school I think 20 bucks.

Granted some time has passed but 60 for a middle school yearbook? It had better come with a 50 gift dollar certificate to a steak house.

Wow. I have all of mine, I think they were all under $20 until I got to high school, and even then I think they were under $25. College yearbook was free. Ironically I was on the yearbook staff my freshman year and never got a copy of that one at college!

At the high school my friend works at he told me year books are 300. Its a pretty getto school out by Palmdale CA I think he said they sold like a 100 books. I think around 40 to 50 is a fair price.

College yearbook isn't free, they just forego begging for the money and take it directly 😉

$60 is a ripoff, but I'd get her the yearbook if she *really* wanted it. Same goes for the senior class ring that no one gives a crap about after graduation, although I'd make sure not to spend top dollar on that.

Being it's a ghetto school, probably no one is going off to college so they include either a crack rock in the "Want to be a Dealer" edition and a CZ Pinky ring, gold grille, and brass knuckles in the "Want to be a Hustler" edition. Not sure what the girls got, maybe chapstick and prep. H.

my middle school yearbook was $50-60 every year. I bought them one year, being the stupid kid that I was. I then got one for free because I was on the yearbook staff in 8th grade. In HS, I never bought a single year book. They were $115. I didn't even buy one my senior year. Haha.

Did someone say Palmdale - NSFW

^ That white dude in vid has some mad handling skillz.

Buy her the book......

What a rip off... Mines was only $20-$30 CAN and that was when $1 CAN = $0.60 US. Granted, that was 8 years ago...

I only ever bought one for my final year of junior school cause my parents told made me. Well, if you do cough it up, at least $60 is just the price of one or two cell phone bills your kiddy will be asking for at the end of this month or in a year...

Waaaaaay too much. My middle school yearbooks were about $10-$15. My high school ones were $80 (I'm mad I didn't get those discounted or for free cause I spent a crapload of time as Photo Editor of a couple of those books).

my high school yearbook ran somewhere around the $75 mark... but then again, it was full color and the school had close to 2200 students and they put a lot of things in it. but it ran around $60 or something when it was not full color (i believe the senior pictures, which there are 9 on a page, were always in color.. don't really remember.. at least, for awhile they were i think. i honestly don't remember, all 4 years I went there they had full color books).
