Angevine Middle School Principal Mike Medina issued the warning to parents in an e-mail Thursday and said the bracelets are a "substantial distraction." Medina says in the e-mail that the colors of the bracelets are rumored to signify sexual acts that students have done or are willing to do.
Medina says students are being asked to remove the bracelets but that no one has been suspended.
Some students have protested the order and say they wear the bracelets to be fashionable and deny that they have sexual connotations.
