Haven't had it in years but when I did; No, I swipe my finger across it.

When I used to smoke pot I'd throw a whole stick of butter in the microwave and then dump it in. The popcorn would shrivel to half its size and it was like soup in the bottom but man...the first half was amazing.

You no longer smoke? Why not?

I got a new microwave last summer. I'd previously had one that didn't have much power. So I bought a box of microwave popcorn, threw a bag in, watched it closely, didn't burn a single kernel.

It sucked. Bad. And it stunk up the house so bad that I threw the rest of the box in the trash.

Then I pour half a bottle of this on it along with some flavocol.

Effing annoying that I can't seem to find a stainless steel (non-plastic) air popper. Going to try microwaving without buying microwaving bags once I pick up a big glass bowl.

I've seen those in the store. I wonder how much popcorn you'd need to be eating to justify that huge eyesore. A large pot on the stove will do just as good a job. Would be cool though if you're one of those rich people who has a proper cinema in their basement.

I think they look pretty cool, but it does take a lot of room for something that just makes popcorn.

Not really, it's mostly in height. It's not very wide or deep. Sits fine in my kitchen corner but obviously not for everyone.
Now the ones without the stand of course would take up counter space which I find more valuable. But even stovetop popcorn kettles is going to take up space somewhere.

I also have one that's basically a large bowl with a replaceable bottom piece where you can pop kernels in the microwave. Got it at Rural King but forgot what it's called, works really well but doesn't taste as good as kettle

Pop corn in a skillet?
It's actually great, my step mother used to always make it that way, I imagine she still does.

There was a recipe for making it sweet also.

One of my cousins grows for Orville on the side, they are picky about what they buy, he used to hand out 10 lb burlap bags every Christmas to everyone.

You can pop regular old popcorn in the microwave if you aren't partial to Orville's stuff. Just put a quarter cup of kernels in a brown paper bag, fold the top over and start the popcorn cycle. Works like a charm.
