Why isn't anyone replying?

1) Vista isn't out except in beta so very few people can say how well your system will run it.
2) You posted at 4:26am Eastern US time - most people in the US are asleep.

BTW - You shouldn't bump your own post 4x within 2 minutes and again 20 minutes later? WTF?

QFT! Especially the bumping part...

Well at the moment I am reinstalling XP over
my Vista Beta. I installed Vista yesterday
and got it up and running but I couldnt install
BF2 so Vista is going out the window for now.

Didn't really seem all that great anyway. Was
actually a pain to work with. Reminded me of
Redhat from the hour or so of playing around with it.

I installed a MSDN beta of Vista on my T42 a couple of months ago. I didn't like the layout but everything takes some getting used to. Was it buggy? Yes. Did it run all programs? No - at best 50% of what I tried to install. Was it faster? No. That said, it was a *beta* with debugging code in it.

When will it be out? Anyones estimate is just a guess. Any release date will likely be pushed back. It's just a matter of how long and how many times.

I think vista is going to be a flop. Its going to be the windows ME all over again. The only people who get it are going to be people who buy new PCs, gamers are going to stick with XP (the 98 or 2000 back in the ME days). I think MS is just releasing this as a stop gap measure to make some more money and beta test some new features they will perfect in future versions. Thats the problem with selling OS's. There is only so much an OS can/should do. There are only so many major features you can add. After that its just bug fixes until new ways of interacting with computers mature. Then the cycle repeats. I think XP was a good release. It changed the way windows works for most desktop users. But this is just another maintence mode OS release. Hell you can tell it is because 80% of the new features will be ported back to XP.

I'd stick with XP if I used windows.

In fact, I thought it would be interesteding to ask this question for eveyrone.

Will you be bothered if Vista gets delayed until 2007? Is it likely that it will get delayed to 2007?

Am I the only one who saw that and thought "The Emperor has no clothes"?

No, I am sure all the other Linux guys thought the exact same thing, at the exact same time 😉.
