I think vista is going to be a flop. Its going to be the windows ME all over again. The only people who get it are going to be people who buy new PCs, gamers are going to stick with XP (the 98 or 2000 back in the ME days). I think MS is just releasing this as a stop gap measure to make some more money and beta test some new features they will perfect in future versions. Thats the problem with selling OS's. There is only so much an OS can/should do. There are only so many major features you can add. After that its just bug fixes until new ways of interacting with computers mature. Then the cycle repeats. I think XP was a good release. It changed the way windows works for most desktop users. But this is just another maintence mode OS release. Hell you can tell it is because 80% of the new features will be ported back to XP.

I'd stick with XP if I used windows.

you will find that your completely wrong

I have a better name for Vista, how about Microsoft System Hog 2006 ?I read somewhere that google intends to release an OS,I hope that happens.

Amd 64 bit 3200 WC
1gb dual ch
128mb 6600gt
160gb sata ncq

posts like these leave me dazed and confused. there is no "gaming version" of windows vista 😕 where did you pull this from? and why would you have problems running vista on a machine like that? you have the processor, the ram, the disk space, you won't have problems.

thats an enthusiast site, they know nothing.

Ya you should read that link yerself

Windows Vista Ultimate Edition

The best operating system ever offered for a personal PC, optimized for the individual. Windows Vista Ultimate Edition is a superset of both Vista Home Premium and Vista Pro Edition, so it includes all of the features of both of those product versions, plus adds Game Performance Tweaker with integrated gaming experiences, a Podcast creation utility (under consideration, may be cut from product), and online "Club" services (exclusive access to music, movies, services and preferred customer care) and other offerings (also under consideration, may be cut from product). Microsoft is still investigating how to position its most impressive Windows release yet, and is looking into offering Ultimate Edition owners such services as extended A1 subscriptions, free music downloads, free movie downloads, Online Spotlight and entertainment software, preferred product support, and custom themes. There is nothing like Vista Ultimate Edition today. This version is aimed at high-end PC users and technology influencers, gamers, digital media enthusiasts, and students.

The marketing message: Ultimate Edition is the "no compromises" version of Windows Vista. It provides the best performance, most secure and complete connection to the office, and is optimized for the individual. Everything you need for work or fun is included. It is the best operating system ever offered for the personal PC.

This verion of Vista will be the choice for Gamers.
