Given that both are new generation of tech toys, which one sold you on WOW factor? Which one is more innovative to you? And which one would you actually get if you only get to pick one?

A $10,000 store kiosk vs. a $600 cellphone. Come on.Originally posted by: Modeps

I can see why they're being compared though. The first thing that came to my mind when I saw Surface was "Wow, a giant iPhone!"

Except it can do much much more. If I recall correctly, surface allows for 52 simultaneous 'touches' while the iPhone allows for two. Surface will also sync with any object that is placed on it, and allows you to manipulate a number of things in real time.

I believe the touchscreens are totally different between the iphone and surface. The reason why Microsoft Surface is such a big deal because of a relatively new Touch Screen Technology. If you read furhter into Microsoft Surface. The surface uses a MULTI-POINT technology where the screen can sense more then one contact point made by the user. The I phone uses a traditional touch screen with Icons you simple touch.
No, the iPhone can recognize 2 simultaneous inputs.Originally posted by: steppinthrax

Its not traditional on the iPhone. It detects two points of contact, not one. Surface detects many more points of contact... as stated by effowe, he believes its 52 points.
