The only thing that I got out of that article, is that NV is now going to provide CUDA drivers for MS HPC Server 2008. Big whoop.

Is it just me, or is anyone else tired of hearing about CUDA, Tesla, and PhysX? I mean, these technologies are fine, but as a gamer I'm way more interested in hearing about GT300 progress/performance.

Plus, NVIDIA has already shown they intend to use their proprietary APIs to try to force vendor lock in, such as what they've done with PhysX. They've even gone so far as to break standard features on non-NVIDIA hardware, like AA on Batman. Why anyone would be interested in hearing more about NVIDIA's proprietary, synthetic incompatibility barrier, monopoly crap is beyond me.

edit: in the event that some haven't heard about the AA shenanigans NV pulled in Batman...

Batman: Arkham Asylum is another brand-new PC game, and has been burning up the review charts. It?s an Unreal Engine 3 based game, something that?s not immediately obvious from just looking at it, which is rare for UE3 based games.

NVIDIA has put a lot of marketing muscle into the game as part of their The Way It?s Meant to Be Played program, and as a result it ships with PhysX support and 3D Vision support. Unfortunately NVIDIA?s influence has extended to its anti-aliasing abilities too, as its in-game selective AA abilities only work on NVIDIA?s cards. AMD?s cards can perform AA on the game, but only via traditional full screen anti-aliasing, which isn?t nearly as efficient. Because of this, this is the only game where we will not be using AA, as doing so produces meaningless results given the different AA modes used.

Sounds like Nvidia and Microsoft are two peas in a pod!

I'm tired too but I guess since fanboy OP's company of choice lost the performance crown and its new architecture is nowhere to be seen he's resorted to posting such uninteresting news because there's nothing better to say about Nvidia right now.

meh, no porn, no clicks.

Sorry, that's only in thilan29's posts. ;)

it's like discovering a movie you like is being played on TV. sure, you have it on DVD and can watch it any time you wish, but when it's on TV, it's right there... and you just watch it.

likewise porn is everywhere you look on the internet, but when you accidentally stumble upon it, it's like christmas.

I found the results of thilan29's post to be quite interesting.... He was going off on how AA was only working on Nvidia cards; but there was no aliasing in that movie and im on ATI

Interesting because AFAIK the GTX 295 is still the top graphics card out there? Your post is pure FUD.

Regarding Nvidia's features, if you don't like them, don't buy them. Although I am not a huge fan of CUDA , Tesla, or PhyxS, they are valuable to some people. I also corrected the quote above...

What card has the performance crown right now?

Including 30" panels with AA or just lesser resolutions?

Doesn't 5870 CF hold the performance crown now? I can't recall off the top of my head how good/bad the 295 does when SLI'ed.

That's pretty much what you do when your competitor releases an amazing new series of GPUs and you're so behind schedule you have nothing to even detract from it, never mind counter it with. It's called desperation.

Same. Whoop-de-do.

Your post is totally out of line. Not sure why you would put words in my mouth, as I don't think I've made a statement on what I think about GT300. I am absolutely positive I have NEVER claimed insider knowledge.

I buy graphics cards to play games, so meh. But for others that actually use their computers as computers this may be a good thing.
