i have been using onecare for awhile now.
the latest updates have made the firewall like the early versions of zonealarm.

I've submitted a few bug reports and such.
Overall its not bad. I like to describe it as Microsoft Systemworks, since it's basically just like Norton Systemworks only lacking the repair utilities

With MSN Mobile beta they sent me a free Cell Mate Dash Pad with MSN Mobile Beta written on it. Works fairly well.

I bet with onecare we'll get a free 6 month subscription or something. Vista possible a tshirt or coupon or something

I just signed up....

So does this mean we are getting the discs for sure? Or do they only mail it to a select amount of people?

I imagine they'll wait until Beta 2 is finalized before they release it to us, which will probably be some time around December. Also, I think they usually provide free downloads; an actual disc costs you shipping charges.

Anyone receive a disc yet?

It'll take a while. I sent my request back in August and received it last month. Shipping was free by the way. Microsoft will send you an email some days after your initial request for the beta if you're approved for it. After the email they'll send you, I believe another follow up email. From there, you'll receive your discs in about a month or so.

The web site says "The easy opportunity to download or order the beta software (shipping and handling fee may apply)". This is exactly the same way they handled the public beta of XP oh so many years ago.

link to where you can download it? i signed up...but...i didn't see anything about downloading it.

edit: found it...but it costs money to subscribe to get it? wtf. So does that mean they wont send me any cds?

You can only download it right now if your part of MSDN, I was subcribed to MSDN for free through my tech school for awhile.

I didn't get a confirmation email for either, but I'll just get them in my action pack subscription eventually.
