All they are doing is block a few more of the most popular pirated serials. So basically the same as when they blocked FCKWG-* in SP1.

isn't it FCK GW?

Yeah, him and Cheney.

Pretty sure it's FCKGW

not that I'd know...

Pretty sure it was a typo on my part.

heh, you'd love BSD or Linux then...

no thanks... I prefer an OS with user-friendly interface. Windows XP Pro > BSD or Linux. For me at least. And yes, I tried them both.

I guess.. if you like being baby-talked through life XP is the way to go. But once you are mature enough to figure out how to use a command line you may want to switch.

ROFL. You are dumb.

"Let's switch to Linux cause typing into the command line instead of a single click makes me mature and cool."

Yeah, commandline stuff is so outdated that in Windows 2003 server more things can be done that way again, due to popular demand.

I just want to jump into the fold on the underlying linux debate, my easy to use Linux installation (Red Hat 9) took about 5 hours to get the printer working, many more hours to assign certain commands to certain programs, and many more hours to get firefox to launch more than one instance from the task bar. Don't get me wrong, I love linux, especially for programming, but it is not where it needs to be for ease-of-use for your average computer user. I also do almost everything through command line because I am still of the opinion that linux is a command line OS with a GUI shell, anything useful is usually done through the command line, not the gui (though this could be because of how I learned linux, using TWM, I just don't have much GUI experience).

One last point, I play video games, and let's all admit that the best platform to play PC games on is windows, hands down.

LMAO. You are stupid.

Who said anything about being cool? Why don't you put an effort into using your computer and you will get some results. But if you are happy with XP, so be it. Enjoy Palladium

He is happy with XP. He even said so. You made some assinine comment about being mature enough to figure it out, like you do in every thread you post in. Put an effort into using your computer? Not all of us spend 24/7 in front of the computer. Once you get a life let us know.

I used to use a command line interface with DOS and it was a pain in the ass. I don't need to do the things Linux excels at all I want to do is get on the internet and maybe play a few games. I like having the computer do most of the stuff for me not the other way around, I don?t have the time to sit around tinkering with the computer like I used to I just want it to do what I want.

Thanks for giving him the reply he needs Raging. How ignorant can people be?

Oniq, appearently you cannot understand other people's needs. Why do you like Linux? I am sure you can count in security, programming environment, etc. etc. Well guess what? None of those are important to me. Sure, security is, but I am on top of things and update my OS anytime a patch comes out, heck its automated, I don't click a thing.

Now probably you'll bring up the issue of viruses and tell me how Linux is much better than Windows in that regard. Well, come back when Linux has over 90% market share in end-user market and we'll discuss it then. People writing viruses intend to do harm, of course they'll write a virus for Windows. Linux has less than 10% market share, they don't bother with small things.

Microsoft helped this industry grow a lot. We wouldn't be where we are at without Windows. Show me another user-friendly OS that my grandma can use without worrying about command lines and sh!t... she just needs to plug in her digital camera (and NOT worry about drivers) and send me photos. Well till that day comes around, Microsoft will always dominate.

Anyways, I said you were dumb because you look at a huge market with a very small segment's view. You may be a hardcore programmer, fine, have you Linux and be happy with it. But for average consumer, all those things you love about Linux is worthless. For me, I would love a Mac with the latest Mac OSX or Panther as I am into graphic arts, website design, etc. etc.

Anyways I hope this long ass post helps you understand why I said you were dumb.

So last night I decide to visit some warez sites and download a couple of XP key generators and guess what? I was rewarded with all kinds of hack attempts. Ad-aware found over 160 new registry inputs. Thank god Norton couldn?t find any viruses but time will tell if it was effective.

My whole point is that at $150 for a legal copy, it?s just not worth the aggravation to deal with all the hacker crap. I bet these folks spend twice as much on vid cards every 6 months. crazy

I thought it stood for F_CK G(ate)W(ay)... interesting due to the company that it supposedly leaked from. ;)
