Umm yea the only mention of microsoft or anything tech related was the last 15 seconds.

When Bill Gates is in it, do you really need to see anything from Microsoft to know it's a Microsoft commercial? 😛

so... I knew it. The Olympics was a big, very extravagant Microsoft commercial!
A bad one though, considering there was a blue-screen.
At least it was honest. Never see those Apple ads promoting the fact that they lock up. :shudders: ... the number of times I've had an Apple lock up on me... ugh. stupid classrooms using overpriced trash.

New Ad

New ad came out with Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Gates.

I have no idea what they are touting about Windows or Microsoft or anything at all.

Any ideas?

Because of Vista Mac sales are destroying PC's.

If there is no XP equavalent next year I will be going to a Mac even.

wtf was that? not that i like the mac guy pc guy ads, but this was just lame. there was barely any connection to microsoft at all. and what does it have to do with shoes or eating? pathetic...

I kind of like it. It's almost like a corporate rebranding, giving MSFT a better sense of humor but avoidng the negativity and general douchebaggery of the Apple ads

So it would be bad if it had Bill Gates beating a pretentious turtleneck wearing twat to death and then wearing his skin as a suit?

Lots wrong with it.

Why no hyperterminal?
UAC is annoying, yes you can turn it off, but its still annoying.
I have to make an effort to run cmd as admin to get anything done
No Admin tools for AD like with XP
Network Control panel is horrible
Everything moved and is now counter intuitive
Too high requirements for an OS that doesnt do anything new
Network transfers are much slower compared to XP
Application compatibility is a joke

Shall I go on?

You keep on drinking the kool-aid, I'll stick with an OS that works for me and not the other way around

Yeah I agree with ya. Haha "general douchebaggery", no doubt.

What does "MSFT" stand for?

Its Microsoft stock ticker symbol I thought. Also an abbreviation of Microsoft

Why no hyperterminal? because no one uses it anymore

UAC is annoying, yes you can turn it off, but its still annoying. not hard to turn off takes 2 secs shouldent be an issue

I have to make an effort to run cmd as admin to get anything done log in as admin

Network Control panel is horrible ok ill give you that one

Everything moved and is now counter intuitive people bitched about the same thing from 98/2k->XP

Too high requirements for an OS that doesnt do anything new stop trying to run it on a 10 year old computer, it runs perfectly fine on midrange comps that were out when it was released

Network transfers are much slower compared to XP never had issues with this + they fixed it in SP1

Application compatibility is a joke never had an issue here

At least it's original, compared to the same old Mac vs PC formula used by Apple for the last millenium.

I kind of chuckled at their new one where PC was pretending to be a "delicious pizza" to attract college students 🙂

I think that it is hilarious, though I am a fan of Seinfeld humor.

S: Is this your toe?

B: No

S: What is it?

B: Leather

LOL that one was great. When i laugh is when in class the professors tell everyone in class that they cannot use mac with the software they need IE: phstat. The list is almost endless but its pretty funny. And i feel pretty bad for the hipster girl sitting next to me 🙁, who spent thousands on a 600 computer. And now she needs to figure out how to get windows on her mac so it has some use besides internet/facebook/looking cool.

Though i do run mac on my pcs for fun 🙂 yet the bookstore promotes the shit out of the macs.
