Microsoft Ad Campaign

1st Ad

First Ad that is directly "attacking" Apple.

Microsoft dropping Seinfeld

Microsoft is dropping Seinfeld for a John Hodgman lookalike. Ads to come soon.

2nd Ad

The second in the series of who knows how many. Anyone know what this one is about? It's funnier then last time, but I don't get the link to Microsoft. Any ideas?

New Ad

New ad came out with Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Gates. I have no idea what they are touting about Windows or Microsoft or anything at all. Any ideas?

The main point is that MS is a really big, stable company that can afford Jerry Seinfeld. The secondary point is that MS is a really big, stable company that is also really hip ... if you live in 1997.

I found it incredibly long. The only time they talked about technology was at the very end when Jerry wanted to be able to eat his computer.

I thought it was an Amex commercial at first. Actually until the very end because when Bill Gates whips out his shoe store card, I thought Seinfeld would whip out his Amex.

That was one of the weirdest commercials I have ever seen. I get that the point of some commercials is to get people talking about the brand, but....Microsoft. Who (besides absolute technophobes) doesn't talk about Microsoft or Microsoft products almost daily, even if it's just "effing Microsoft crap software?"

They aren't going to regain any market share from apple with that ad. Its a boring ad. And i have no idea what their point was. Why don't they just hire Paris Hilton walking around with a Lenovo U110 and make a comedy skit out of that.

According to the end of this, Microsoft is going to make computers moist and chewy like cake.

or..........

THE CAKE IS A LIE!!!

When Bill Gates is in it, do you really need to see anything from Microsoft to know it's a Microsoft commercial? 😛
