Micron PC 100 vs Micron PC 133

Obviously the PC133 will perform better. Why is it cheaper? The gods must be smiling upon you or something. Don't ask questions, just take it while you can.

Click here and you will know the price of PC 133 is cheaper than PC 100.

I am just wondering how could this be?? Is that PC 133 CAS3 and the PC 100 is CAS2??I will phone them and ask them

100Mhz Cas2 operates SLIGHTLY (VERY SLIGHTLY) faster then PC133, BUT running at 133Mhz gives better performance (go figure).

Doesnt it depend on the speed of the chip also ? If you have a PC100 @ 6ns hehehe

PC 100 @ 8ns x cas 3 = 24 ns
PC 100 @ 8ns x cas 2 = 16ns

PC 133 @ 7.5ns x cas 3 = 22.5 ns
PC 133 @ 7ns x cas 2 = 14 ns

forcesho, You don't need 8ns chips to be PC-100 you only need 10ns chips
1000/10=100Mhz
1000/8=125Mhz
1000/7.5=133.33_

But the point you raise is a good one; a buyer should look less at the PC ratting, and more at the speed of the chips and their relative performance.

Yeah I know Office Boy.

Those PC-150 TinyBGA are cheap and great.
I heard alot of people are getting great results with these babies 🙂 (150 cas2)

Office Boy how are they doing in your set up?

Cuz I am doing the same set up, just waiting for the T-Bird800, 256 of these RAM, and the Antecsx803 case.
Got the Asus A7V yesterday.

The ram's doing great running at 137mhz 2,2,2
I just wish I knew what was holding my FSB back, It won't go over 105 :frown:

damn it... i was going to order 2 sticks today but the shipping fees cost half of the price of the ram to canada?? how could this happen?? it is just 2 sticks of ram. is that very heavy or what??

it is 98 bucks now... go get some before it is too late..

by the way, how much did you guys in US pay for the shipping????
It seems high for the canadians

Geeez Heng...by the time this thread fizzles out, you should make it to senior member without saying one intelligent thing. All of the questions you have asked are easily answered with just a smidgen of reasearch on your part.
