Microcenter currently has a promotion for an instant $50 off any AMD cpu/motherboard combo.

I added a AMD X4 630 cpu ($99) with a Gigabyte 760G motherboard for $117.98!

you can actually click "View all" and theres like 18 motherboards. ther eis a biostar 785g for $60 - $50 that has no rebate and is probably nicer than the gigabyte 760G

Yesterday I bought an Athlon II X4 635 from TigerDirect and was congratulating myself for using Bing ($90 final price), but now I see this...

Strictly speaking, I don't require a new AM2+/AM3 motherboard, as the Athlon is for my ASUS M3A78G-EM, but at these prices, I'd gladly have got a spare board and given up 0.1 GHz on the cpu.

Trying to tell myself I don't need another Athlon II X4... resist... resist...
 
What is the cheapest CPU / board combo that would be quadcore, VT enabled, and have support for DDR2 800 Ram on this deal?

Just got back from Microcenter, this deal is DA BOMB.

Picked up a Phenom II X3 720 BE chip for myself ($99), with a Gigabyte MA785GM-US2H mobo ($35, with a $10 MIR on top).

Talked a relative that came with me into getting a combo, they got a Athlon II X4 630 ($99), with a Asus M2N68-AM PLUS ($0.01). Talk about a cheap quad-core setup!

Still have to get some DDR2 RAM for these rigs, probably at NewEgg. They did have some 4GB dual-channel DDR2-800 kits from OCZ for $65 AR, but I hate rebates now so I passed on that.
