What a fool. I think this guy needs to get out and talk to people around the country. I literally haven't talked to anyone on campus that was anti-war. This fool should not be trying to speak for Americans.

I wonder if he is going to call this comedy, and say "stop being so serious about it" when someone calls him on his inaccuracies. Anywho,

1.) Load the dice with "gung-ho". The majority of americans dont want to go to war without the Un, that is true, last time I looked at the polls. However, the % of Americans that support a war without UN help is in the 40's.

2.) First he starts by complaining about bush winning without winning the popular vote. Despite the fact that all the recounts in Fl. show that he won the state, and thus won the election under the rules set forth in the Constitution. Then he complains about the economy going into a slide. Well, here's a news flash: The economy was slipping under Clinton. The US economy tends to be on an upswing for a couple of years, then it slows a bit, then up, then down...

3.) Hmmmm... Bush didnt lose in a popularity contest, his plan to go to war with Iraq lost out to the French plan to sit on their butts and pretend Saddam's a great guy.

4.) What happened to the Dixie Chicks after they spoke out against Bush? Oh, yeah, big backlash and radio stations refusing to play their music.

5.) A trait that has become evident in his points, he loads the question for himself again:
Why does it matter that the sons and daughters of Congressmen have to be enlisted? Are the rates of mortality that much higher for EM than officers? As for his idea of sending Bush's daughters to the Gulf, well, if I was a serviceman I wouldnt want a couple of drunks nearby holding M-16s. But hey, thats me.

6.) Who is this "we"? Are there poll numbers regarding the American public's opinion about France? I know I certainly dont like their current stance on Iraq. Most of my friends dont, either. He's assuming a lot there. He can go ahead and list all the great things that people of French nationality have done, but I could list bad things, too. It doesnt change anything one way or another.

EDIT: Oh, yeah, and at the end he talks about it being for oil. If we wanted cheap oil we could just get the UN to drop sanctions. Iraq has the #2 oil reserves, but currently accounts for 4% of the world's production. If we wanted to annex a oil rich country, I think venezuela would be easier. And closer

my point is that he can be disrespectful all he wants if he's got some nugget of knowledge to his name...but he's just...so...dumb?

The guy is a blowhard who is just trying to hold onto some shred of notoriety now that people really are tired of his rantings. He was "different" years ago, but now he's tired and struck with a form of lunacy. I saw him awhile ago on the BBC, and his over-the-top statements just made him look so idiotic. He was debating Geoff Hoon, UK Defense Minister, and you almost felt sorry for Moore because he was so pathetic.

I haven't read the letter and don't intend to. There's really no point in paying attention to him, which is probably what angers him the most -- he doesn't matter.

I got as far as #1 before I had to call him on it. From people I have talked to who live near and regular walk the streets of Washington, DC, they do want a war.

Michael Moore is a great filmmaker, but he's a stain as a human being.

he's the same guy who had the big Flint town meeting after the movie Roger & Me to promote the GM auto workers that lost their job, only to be asked what he drives - a Japanese built Honda Civic! Heh heh.

1. There is virtually NO ONE in America (talk radio nutters and Fox News aside) who is gung-ho to go to war. Trust me on this one. Walk out of the White House and on to any street in America and try to find five people who are PASSIONATE about wanting to kill Iraqis. YOU WON'T FIND THEM! Why? 'Cause NO Iraqis have ever come here and killed any of us! No Iraqi has even threatened to do that. You see, this is how we average Americans think: If a certain so-and-so is not perceived as a threat to our lives, then, believe it or not, we don't want to kill him! Funny how that works!

I'm stopping at #1. If the rest is as bad as that he is wasting a lot of the net's bandwidth with total crap.

No American is PASSIONATE about wanting Iraqis dead. That is a stupid and assinie statement to make. Americans do want the situation with Iraq resolved and Saddam removed.

I won't waste any more time on it.
