The guy who says "I don't care what racists say" while using slang terms to refer to someone's skin color us a hypocrite.

This will be my last reply in this discussion since i don't think it's being done with honest intention on your part (no one is this stupid).

Black and white are slang words? What words do you suggest i use then?

I would say that these are common speech words and not slang, have been since before the US existed.

You said Obama is half white. He isn't, he's black. It would be more accurate to say he's half caucasian/anglo/German/Irish/etc. White is a color, not a genetic inheritance.

Slang is common speech. I don't know what you're getting at here.

If you use [color of the rainbow] as a descriptor of a person's lineage, you're using convenient slang, not scientific terminology.

The Klan were so prominent in the town where Jordan lived they sponsored Little League teams.
-snip-

If you read the article closely I think you'll see Jordon was referring to his grandfather's days in that town, not his own.

I don't believe the Klan had any significant existence during his childhood, much less sponsoring any teams.

Its kinda messed up that Paula Deen was figuratively burned at the stake, but Jordan will suffer no consequence.
I am not saying anyone individually is to blame. I think both Paula Deen and Jordan are good people and not racist at heart. It's just frustrating how two innocent honest comments by each person can be twisted depending on how the media wants to shape it, and how we react.

Your analogy is stupid. He was a teenager. What moron would equate some judgement against how a person thought as a teenager.

In 1977 there was still heavy influence from the klan.

White is a race according to the US government just as black is, so saying Obama is half white, half black is technically correct.

Definition of Race Categories Used in the 2010 Census

“White” refers to a person having origins in any of the original peoples

“American Indian or Alaska Native” refers to a person having origins in

American Indian groups or South American Indian groups.

“Asian” refers to a person having origins in any of the original peoples

White, Black or African American, American Indian or Alaska Native,
Asian, and Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander race categories

mixed, interracial, or a Hispanic or Latino group (for example, Mexican,
Puerto Rican, Cuban, or Spanish) in response to the race question are
included in this category

And your back to 1prophet's point

"Besides its use in anthropology and related fields, the term "Caucasian" has often been used in the United States in a different, social context to describe a group commonly called "White people".[37] "White" also appears as a self-reporting entry in the U.S. Census.[38]"

This doesn't contradict anything I've said.

I best leave this up to you guys
I seen how so many here believed the media made up the term *White Hispanic*
The whole thing just left me confused

who fucking cares. I don't care Jordan thought or said anything that long ago. Just as i don't give a shit paula dean said the n word 20 something years ago and forced to admit it under oath.

both were at a different time in their lives and a different time in the US.

Paula shouldn't have had the witch hunt against her and NOTHING should happen to MG

Meanwhile al sharpton the racist has his own (barely watched) tv show. He's smart though, he preaches his racism under the guise of "hope and giving back to the community"

I'm wondering whether you prefer to limit your grasp of the situation surrounding her as "she only said the n word 20 years ago" rather than what it actually was, because the last time you trotted out your opinion of her, I responded with this:

What I posted wasn't even the full situation.
