Been traveling today, listening to whole thing in one sitting pretty much. I guess Matt Gaetz still has a drinking problem? What an idiot.

I bet the republicans wish they had some credibility to work with here. 5 years of Benghazi makes all the talk of "better things to do, this costs money" utterly hilarious. Republicans are being the same joke they've been all along, but then I guess it is hard to continually try to bash someone for being a liar when they agree with you. Sympathies to the republican voters of Texas, West Virginia and Tennessee, you people clearly got ripped off. A wall rant, really? The lady from WV sounded like she's been in a coma for years, alone in a room playing constant Fox Noise.

Problem for GOP is that Cohen's input is entirely consistent with what we already know and have seen from Trump himself. Equally problematic to their focus on Cohen and avoidance of Trump, he has more to lose and nothing to gain from lying. And then there was Cohen not being a good little liberal tool and shooting down a few choice conspiracy theories regarding Trump, ouch. Did I detect a change in his voice regarding lying to Melania?

I didn't know his father was a Holocaust survivor, makes me believe his concern over Charlottesville. With Helsinki, well, that should worry any American.

Kudos to the Dems for giving the country the oversight it needs, lets keep it going. Republicans who want nothing more than to obstruct and defend the Russian asset are invited to do so, it's going to make their fall all the more enjoyable. I wish republicans had the same amount of interest in trump appointees recusals as they do in Cohen 'recusing' himself from a book deal. Like one of the Reps said, 'You don't have a problem with Cohen's lying, you have a problem he stopped lying for Trump.'

I missed the Tlaib fireworks. What did she do to get under Meadows' skin???
Called out his using a black woman as a prop as a racist act. Then had to play the same kind of games GOP-ers love where she said the act appeared to be racist, not specifically Mr Meadows.

All of these dudes talking about that tiny and weird "fan" account on Twitter for Michael Cohen...

How does a person not know what the fuck they sound like doing that?

Something telling in Cohen's testimony was the fact that he said Trump never directly made comments or said to do things, but the people around him knew what he meant.
I think that'll be a big part of the Mueller investigation, that Trump is never on record as actually directing the "crimes/collusion", just that everyone "knew" what he wanted/meant.
See...totally no collusion!! :D

So serious question - what is the point of this hearing? Like what are possible outcomes and/or repercussions from this?

Not true. Ive been watching for 2 hours and there have been MANY times "did Trump direct you to do this/say this".

Yes, "all" is not correct. Although a good majority of them, pretty much, sat there and harped on Cohen's crimes, which he has already admitted to and is going to prison for, as a reason he can't be trusted. Cohen gain's nothing by lying. In fact, he gains nothing by telling the truth either. But, the fucker is heading to the slammer. He could pull the Russian hooker tape out of his coat and project onto Jim Jordan's forehead and he's still going to prison. On the other hand, if he lies, he goes to prison AND stays longer.

This seems to be all the Republicans have!?

Everybody who works for Trump protects Mr. Trump. Presumably to the best of their ability. Which means if the someone puts its boot on your neck, you grovel and say whatever it takes to make yourself more credible, so you can live to defend Trump another day. This guy went to work for Trump, and decided every day for 10 years that working for Trump was a great idea, brilliant career move, and the best use of his time as a lawyer. The only reason we know about Cohen right now is because he got caught. I'm sure that there is exactly 0% chance, had he never been caught, Mr. Cohen would have had a spontaneous moment of clarity one morning and said to himself, "Hey, what hell am I doing?" , this shit is a crime", "this Trump guy is shady" - and legitimized his practice and actions. He's a viper. Best use for him is to squeeze the last venom from his fangs, and throw him into the same hole his coconspirators end up in.

Read the actual gag order and precisely what Stone did. There is no legal justification for punishment. Naturally the judge can change the gag order.

Or the judge can just throw his ass in jail. There's only one interpretation of the gag order that matters- hers.

I'm a rule of law guy. The agreement wasn't violated. Now judges have the power to do pretty much anything they like, but I'd rather she restricts all communications as I've said first. No talking to anyone unless specifically authorized. The penalty for the most minor infraction by any means will be met with arrest and imprisonment.

You are right and I wrong. I went back and read the entire order and the press is mentioned. He's done and should be.
