I think that Mrs. "Drill Baby, Drill's" primary chances got hurt by the BP oil spill... not like she stood much of a chance to begin with.

Majority of the nation still supports offshore drilling. I think shes a tard, but the drilling issue isnt the catalyst.

I'm ashamed that our President would allow this guy to lecture our Congress on what they should be doing. And worse, our Congress applauded him! I can't believe it.

I can't believe he then allowed Calderon to rip on Arizona.

Are we not a sovereign country?

I am done with him and the rest of the traitor Rs or Ds.

Democrats give Mexican president standing ovation

"Look carefully in the vid and you’ll see Janet Napolitano (in the blue jacket) and Eric Holder (to her right) springing to their feet to pile on."

Nancy Pelosi is (of course standing and clapping too).

How many seats is this going to cost the Dems in November?

I say they loose 80 seats in the House.

Calderón has some more really-o neat ideas about laws (and restrictions on freedoms) that we should pass too.

http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/05/20/calderon-calls-for-restoring-assault-weapons-ban/

Every Mexican drug dealer gunned down by a peaceful but armed American citizen in his home or fields is that much more cash that doesn't flow into Mexico and that much longer until Mexico can take back the territory they lost. Mexican drug lords can easily purchase weapons from other sources, but American citizens can't be allowed to own weapons that might put them at or near parity.

What an Idiot. They NEED guns in Mexico. The Narco wars have cost 20,000 innocent lives since 2007.

Gangs come in and shoot up whole families who they think crossed them, melt them in acid, torture, etc. The whole country is basically a Nacro state outside of big cities and the people are defenseless against the numbers and corrupt law enforcement (the honest ones are exterminated)

BTW Spidy I have a FA M16 totally legal. All you need is a tax stamp and a little crawling up your ass by Feds. Took about 6 months from time of purchase until I was allowed to take receivership. (actually my corp but I do that so all corp officers can shoot it e.g. my wife, my brother, my dad, etc without me being present)

yep, no detterent. it is what has kept peace (for the most part) on a global scale, at least for large country vs country war (again, i don't and didn't agree w/ iraq II as i think that one was for alternative reasons). the mexican gov should mandate every citizen to be issued an ak47 and i would be within 6mos there would be much less violence. the first year, deaths would be exponentially high, but after that, i am sure it would level off and decline.

Yep. Thousands of poor, innocent drug dealers and hit-men.

Although I find it hilarious when the gun nuts outrage on even the littlest attack towards their precious objects of confidence, I'm going to have to agree with them this time. It is fucking laughable that Calderon actually thinks he has the right to be giving us pointers. Obama & Co giving him a standing ovation after giving said pointers....LOL

Fuck him and fuck every politician who stood up and clapped for this asshole. Seriously Mexico ranks damn near the bottom of the list of countries we should look towards for guidance. This has to be some kind of fucking joke.

Some googling, here you go:

Speaking during a tourism conference, Calderon said criminals constitute more than 90 percent of drug war's death toll, which stands at nearly 23,000 in just over three years.

Calderon said police officers and soldiers make up less than 5 percent of deaths and bystanders or other innocents even less.

http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/2010/apr/16/calderon-most-mexico-drug-war-dead-are-criminals/

For 2008:
"On the contrary, the killings that took place, they were principally between the organized crime groups that are in conflict over controlling the region. Less than 3 percent were innocent victims," said Duarte.

Based on Duarte's figures, around 200 of the 6,000 killed in Mexico's drug war last year were innocent civilians. Duarte said the death of any innocent bystanders is too much, but the numbers show that the cartels are effectively fighting each other to the death, which makes him confident enough to predict victory "in a short time."

It would probably be simpler to name those Democrats that didn't stand and applaud. Parties tend to stick together, even when shafting their own country, and both armed citizens and enforcement of laws against illegal immigration are quite unpopular with most of the Democrat Party's elected officials.
