Pedro won't go to a losing team just b/c of a 4 yr deal vs 3 with almost the same amount of $$. Once again the Mets dck tease their fans, who will only get blue balls!

We Mets fans are used to it.. all too used to it. :| We wont only get blue balls either.. we'll also get over the hill players coming off an injured ridden season.

I think most Mets fans figure that already. Why the hell would he come to the Mets anyways. I don't want him or his little "mahow mahow" buddy at Shea.

Well now Hidalgo is gone it seems after the mets did not offer arbitration, so it seems like they have turned their attention to Alou

and Floyd may still possibly be traded

Alou... ALOU??!! Dammit...curse the Mets and their love for past their prime players that are close to their 40th birthday. No Sosa!! No Pedro!! Now I can add.. No Alou!!

Leiter is now a Marlin and like all former Mets he will make the Mets look silly when he plays against them. I expect Leiter to pitch a no-hitter against his former team.

So now the Mets need another starter. I'm sure the Mets will stick with tradition and look for pitchers that are not only past their prime and probably came off an injury riddled season..but one that may be retired ala Pedro Astascio, Scott Erickson, James Baldwin, David Cone.. etc.

mmm..Mets made two deals so far, Kris Benson who they HAD to sign or else they will be embarrased (and I'm sure they would enjoy the extra bad PR) and Mike DeJean Mustard. whoopee

so far-
No help at pitching with the free
No help in the OF (in fact we lost an OFer)
no help at 1B

i think both the mets and yanks are having bad winters.

The yanks made some ok moves. Pavano and Wright are young and have good stuff when healthy. Then again they could both turn to Javy Vasquez and give up 1000 homers. Womack is a decent signing and they may still get Johnson or Milton. who knows..at least they are making some moves.

I would like to take this moment to thank the Mets for simultaneously screwing the Red Sox and themselves.

i wish I could be more confident about pavano and wright. would you trust these guys pitching game 7 against schilling or WS? they need randy johnson. oh yeah.the bosox get wells, wells has always killed the yanks.

the mets unloaded stanton to yanks. i think that is good. still a lot of time left. lets see omar wheel and deal.

If Pavano pitches like he did last year, or like he has in the playoffs, then I wouldn't exactly pencil in a defeat for the Yankees in a matchup with Schilling... and do you really think Wright is going to pitch in a game 7 playoff game baring numerous injuries to the Yankees rotation?

I liked Kaz's bat and I could see Randolph helping him greatly at second. I still could see the 1-2 leadoff combo of Reyes and Kaz to be one that would be fun to watch. If only Reyes will stay healthy....so far he's doing well in the winter league.

well now Pedro is saying he is a Met, the mets are waiting to announce it after he passes a physical

4 years...damn...i dont like that...3 was long enough, there is little to no chance he lasts 4 years without injury
