And I am still alive to talk about it for the time being!

In actuality, they are living breathing people even if they have a warped sense of direction.

This guy (and I will stretch it to say gentleman :p) is an ancient hippy type with a heart of silver. There are some things that I learned that if he took my advise would earn him a slightly more valuable metal.

But for 2-3 hours we shot the bull and never once did political talk enter the arena.

My suspicion is that I will never see him again; but he was a heck of a nice guy; unlike the way I have pictured him over the years.

So my fellow conservatives, there are some out there that deserve our admiration. but only a few.

Regretfully, he does know my hotel and he uses an alias; so if I am not able to post any more after a couple of day, please notify the local LEO to start an investigation. o_O Last outgoing phone call from my cell is a reference point.:whiste:

Congrats on making out alive, unscathed, and with your morals still intact (presuming you have any) :D

So you met Perknose huh?

Liberals are good. Progressives are the ones you've got to keep an eye on.

In every American community there are varying shades of political opinion. One of the shadiest of these is the liberals. An outspoken group on many subjects, ten degrees to the left of center in good times, ten degrees to the right of center if it affects them personally - Phil Ochs

This is a pretty stupid thread.

Wow, you met a liberal. How original!

That was a pretty stupid post. Let me see if I can equal it by saying so to you. And by the way, stupid, the point wasn't that he met a liberal but that he had a motivation to talk about his reaction. You can have not the faintest capacity or knowledge to judge him on the value he places on that motivation. I sense a crack in a cold heart, to save having to use more exact words. I would call that a good thing.

I'm going to go start a thread titled, "I saw a stray cat today", and then ramble on about nothing for a few paragraphs.

It's my policy to never talk about religion and politics with a stranger. You'll never know what button you pushed that made her/him come at you with a dagger (custom made complete with your favorite patriotic verse engraved or in relief) in one hand and a 25 lb. big word version of (add your favorite religious treatise here __________) in the other.

Shens. If there were a Liberal anywhere near you, they would have eaten you while you were still a Fetus.

What a coincidence, OP! As it so happens, I dared to spend just about the same amount of time with a dyed in the wool Conservative yesterday afternoon, and lived to tell the tale!

And, like you, the guy turned out to be one hell of a nice guy and great, good company! Will wonders never cease? :p
