Whose?
You mean "who is"?
I see people on a nearly daily basis who are on SSI for absurd reasons. It drives me nuts. I also see a fair bit of advertisement for lawyers who will "fight for your rights for SSI." Fucking asshats know asshat doctors so they can get all the asshats easy SSI for bullshit reasons. Scumbags, the lot of 'em.

A bunch of the lawyers take a percentage for the first 12 months as their "fee."
Just remember that they'll mostly have miserable lives watching daytime TV all day, eating garbage, and dying at 55 due to terrible health.
Honestly, that's basically the exact thing I tell myself. Yeah, they're living "free" due to a broken system, but they live, comparably, complete shit lives. ("they" being the piece of shit abusers, not those actually in need of SSI)
Something like that - I'm not sure about $2k, but there's a limit.to qualify for SSI, don't you have to have <$2,000 of assets at any given time?
Yea man. It's not even close to a good life. ...
Opps. :|

Between the hospital and the office I see quite a few patients. A fair few on SSI (particularly in the hospital).
It doesn't' take much to get on it anymore.. everyone seems to figure out some condition or loophole in this pathetic system, meanwhile I've got facet joint syndrome, arthritis in my spine, occipital neuralgia and you will not find me close to asking for any of these free handouts, doesn't even cross my mind.

That said, it doesn't mean you can't squirrel cash away off the books. I think a lot of these SSI abusers have black market incomes.
