Really, why?

Cheaper, likely handles better and, looks better (IMHO) and it's a Honda so it should be cheaper to maintain, more reliable and hold up for a long while.

Also, the SLK is still more of a fast GT cruiser than an all out sports car like a Boxster or S2000.

for $46k bling i'd get a S2000 and drop a intercooled supercharger, 2 pairs of awesome slicks and make the SLK350 cry 😛

of course, and still come out cheaper, spend the saved bling on the woman, hehe.

not saying the slk is wack, i test drove one in the midtown MB dealership, that car goes.

Yeah, I wasn't really recommending it. Just mentioning it as another little convertible around the same price. I'd pick the SLK too, the new ones look great!

Personally, I'd get either the Boxster or an S2000. Boxster if you really want to stay within price range and type, S2000 with some stuff thrown in otherwise.

My friend has an SLK350 and man that thing is a beauty. I know people are telling you that the S2000 is a better choice, but in the end your paying for a Honda vs. a Benz. Both drive great, both will make you happy, but I believe that you would be able to get rid of the Benz faster and at a higher price in the future, if you ever choose to trade-in/sell your car.

Ordered a Black Obsidian Metallic with Red Leather SLK 350 Today. Going to be taking European delivery. Did it with pretty much all options minus AMG stuff, and few things I won't use like heated seats.

excellent choice. this car is HOT.

the difference btw the 350 and the s2000 is night and day. Go to a dealer and sit in both, the benz is just finished out a lot nicer.

one thing people failed to mention, and is a HUGE deal imo is the fully automatic power hard top convertible. This thing is amazing, you wanna turn heads, put the roof down at a busy intersection on a red light.

I dont think there is a comparison for the benz in this class. it wins hands down. its a beautiful car.
