Men vs women who ages better?

Men face an uphill battle in their 20's but in the 30's the tide starts to turn and holds until the 70's where men tend to fall off the cliff.

When the word "distinguished" is used, it's generally not to describe a woman.

That said, there seem to be a lot of hot 50-something women lately. Ming-Na Wen being the most obvious example.

It seems to me that subjectively men age better, meaning that society views an older man through a rosier lens than it does an older woman. Objectively women would seem to age better as is evidence by their longer average lifespan relative to men.

In terms of beauty I feel that the methods used by women to enhance their appearance don't translate as well the older they get. I'm mainly focusing on make up products here.

The kind of question only a young person would ask. All aging is good aging.

Men age better. When I was in Thailand my coworkers would ask me how old my Thai girlfriend was. When I told them she was 35 they all told me she was too old. In Asia, under 29 is the prime age for a woman.

Ive heard that its hard to date in your 40s in America. You're too old to hit on the 20 somethings, and women start to go downhill in there 40s. In Thailand, getting a 20 something is easy if you're a foreigner.

Men generally age better into their 50s and 60s. Just ask any plastic surgeon who most of his clients are. It has to do mostly with the fact men have larger and more prominent muscle mass overall than women do. Women also naturally retain more fat cells, too. When muscles start to loosen and shrink, over time, the fat women held up with more muscle mass then moves around and hangs in obvious places, like below the chin and on the top and back of the arms, for instance, making the fat appear a lot more noticeable.

Men age better.

Those who stay out of the sun.

Hmmm maybe that's why I look so young. As a ginger, I have to stay out of the sun. At least people figure I'm in my 20's now, so that's progress. I'll be 30 in less than a year though... people figure I'm like 21.
