Meltdown in Duluth: trump yells at protesters and 'elites' at rally

It's a shame 20 years ago Minnesota seemed like a normal moderate state. To bad it's turned into what Trump hates, a shithole.

How those dairy tariffs working out for you Trump voters.

Minnesota still is a moderate state, run, very successfully, by a Democratic governor for the past 7+ years. Both of our Senators are Democrats. We have the longest streak of voting for Democrats of any state. We are in the top few states in the US for overall economic stability and prosperity. There has long been a very conservative Republican presence in Minnesota, but overall it's a bluish-purple state.

One person, Michelle Bachmann.

Edit: I wil appoligize to the people of Minnesota. But, it seemed for over a decade that person sucked out all of the political oxygen out of what ever else good was going on. In that state. I realize shes gone, but, I suspect that it was her ilk that filled that hall.

Minnesota a shithole? That's bad trolling even for this forum.

Duluth does have one of the highest opiate OD rates in the country and a poverty rate on par with West Virginia. The only thing this man cares about these people is their vote. He's done fuckall for them otherwise. He's enabled the loss of their healthcare, punished them with tax cuts paid for by them to reward the wealthy, and entered into stupid trade wars that actually cost US jobs that apply to them.

But hey, raise your fist, chant stupid phrases and toss your vote to a wolf that is only interested in eating you when it invites you to dinner.

And you keep fighting for human trafficking!

This thread is a great example of the bubble you guys live in. The rally was an amazing success for him and to claim otherwise makes you look uninformed. Get out of your bubbles and at least make an effort to learn what is actually going on. I'm not saying he is a great man, I'm saying you guys act like clueless shills. I live not far from where this went on, the protesters numbered under 50. His support is both stunning and shocking given the daily news.

What about it was an amazing success?

I've literally never watched more than 1 minute of fox news and that only by chance like at the barber.
Do yourself a favor and turn off Fox News for a while. The withdrawal symptoms will take a bit to get over but eventually you'll wake up with a clearer site to what is happening.

Well, it was well-attended. According to Minnesota Public Radio, there were 8,000 attendees, and they turned away 2,000 more. "Success" is subjective, and from my perspective POTUS embarrassed himself, but he certainly had an eager crowd.

Yeah I agree things like this are fundamentally subjective I guess I just don't see an event featuring the president being well attended as particularly impressive. I don't know if it applies here but I would also suspect that they would not book venues they were not sure they could fill because of the bad optics.

I live in WI, work in MN and Duluth is a great city, but... I'm not surprised they found that many people to fill the stadium. Still lots of uneducated low income factory workers around here. Lots of job loss due to the mining industry decline, loss of the twin cities Ford assembly plant, etc. Many people are decent and hard working, but they are stupid enough to fall for Trumps rhetoric thinking he is going to bring back their jobs. I'm not sure why they continue to vote against their own self-interests, but I guess really either party recently hasn't done squat to at least try.

I liked the soybean farmer that one of the papers interviewed at this event who said he'd might reconsider his support but only if Trump's economic policies run him totally out of business. A+ thinking there people.

If Candidate 1 (D) gets 50% of the vote, Candidate 2 (D) gets 40% of the vote, and Candidate 3 (R) gets 10% of the vote why should candidate 3 advance over candidate 2? Candidate 2 had four times his support!
There is nothing wrong with that, except in this case, Candidate 1 (D) spent money to increase the chances of Candidate 3 (R) getting the 2nd slot because he didn’t want to run against Candidate 2 (D), who interestingly enough is a womanizer and also rebranded himself as a teacher’s union busting friend of charter schools. Seems a bit hypocritical to be the candidate of the
resistance by helping the fascist get to the general election.

While all of this is happening, Candidate 4 (D) was probably the best choice for governor.

Yeh, but it makes them feel good.

Nuremburg hosted some "amazing" rallies, too. "Clueless shills" like the 506th Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division put a stop to them, though.

I hear some Trump Humpers have a new movie in the works, "Triumph of the Won't!"

If your barber keeps Fox News on in his shop 24/7, you need a new barber. People who slavishly watch Fox News shouldn't be allowed around sharp instruments.

Bullshit.

Newsom has taken flak from Democratic gubernatorial candidates Antonio Villaraigosa and Delaine Eastin for giving the Cox campaign an implicit boost. Earlier this month, Team Newsom ran a political ad reminding voters that Cox “stands with Donald Trump and the NRA.” That’s an attack ad that happens to double as a ‘signal boost’ for the conservative businessman with Republican voters.

I don't think that was intended to boost Cox's chances at all.

Your concerns are duly noted, as always.

Candidate 4 means who, exactly? This was the 4th place finisher, a standard right wing GOPer-

Unfortunately it is the truth, but I appreciate your rationalizing the hypocrisy as always. Newsom rightfully got called out.

Candidate #4 is John Chiang
