I started the download with MTX but it seemed like it was taking forever. I'm new to torrent downloading so perhaps I don't understand how it works, but it seemed like they were getting hammered.

I already have my own version of Mech 4 Mercenaries installed since I purchased the Mech 4 Compilation pack a couple years ago, so I can wait.

I appreciate the work the company has done to get MW4 to us but this system they force you to use to download the game is crap.

How hard is it to simply release the installer to sites lite bigdownload.com, where I normally get 2.5MB per second, or better (I have FIOS). Instead, they make what appears to be a bit torrent client with "slow as molasses in winter" seeds.

I have been downloading for about 15 minutes or so and the time remaining has been varying from as "little" as 25-30 hours to "infinity min".

To bypass the downloader program, search the mektek folder for .torrent file after you make a attempt to download first (otherwise the torrent file will not be there).

Now open the .torrent file with say uTorrent. I went from 5kbs to 1mbs.

When finished open the downloaded .mkt (or something like that) file with the mektek downloader program (in the Files menu iirc). It will start processing the file and whne done nothing will happen.

You then select "Install" the same as you would have when you first went to download MW4 mech pack. If nothing happens, select the "html download" option in the options menu and it should work. You may have to restart the mektek downloader at some point.

When it is actually installing, there will be three green (iirc) bars at the bottom of the mektek program showing the progress of the install.

I do not have my gaming laptop with me atm so I can not look over it in detail, so maybe someone who gets this to work can post shorter instructions.

I'm having some difficulty with Mechwarrior 4 Mercenaries (the original game from the compilation, not the Mektek pack which I haven't downloaded yet).

For some reason, it doesn't seem to like my mouse at all. In Options, it allows me to set the Scroll Wheel up/down for cycle previous/next weapons group and then it doesn't work in the game! It worked last night when I first installed it, but it's not working now. It also won't acknowledge the existence of my two thumb buttons. (And yes, the mouse works just fine in other games.)

Any ideas?

Does the MekTek pack have fixes and improvements for all of the game settings options?

But if there are a ton of people on, shouldn't the torrent actually be faster? Think their torrents is buggy or something.

Mine just finished and I started it this morning. Should have moved it to utorrent.

I been playing the Mech warrior crysis mod, I wonder if I can go back ha

downloading now.
