cwjefferys, you're not contributing to this thread with anything valuable, so just say im sorry, and go away
Joony, I'm sorry dude, just battle OD until they give you money, or product, because it's their fault, and their problem, not yours.

>Was the sand in a bag?

Sorry, but this was just too funny. If the sand was in a bag, wouldnt that make it a 'sand bag'?

what everyone else said, you should have talked to the manager (dont be an ass like most people, just be calm about it). told them the situation and asked for sassyfaction. them not being able to do anything is BS. call OD hq right now. just go to office depot.com and call their 1-800 number and tell them what the deal is. they should be able to give you a number to call tomorrow. if no luck call the BBB.

important lesson you should have learned from this: ALWAYS buy big ticket items (imo, 40$+ :)) with a credit card. that way you dont have to put up with anything. IT'S THEIR PROBLEM TO GET THEIR MONEY when you use a credit card, otherwise it's your problem to get it back.

<< Yeah once i bought a bag of sand and their was sand in it... >>

A better joke would have been that you bought a bag of sand and there was an Ipaq in it. :D

Wow, feel bad for you.

Usually when I make a big purchase (an ipaq would be considered big to me), I would be so excited that the darn thing would've been opened up even before I get to the register. If not, it'll definitely be opened right after I leave the store and before I hop in my car.

Hope it gets settled.

I don't think that this is unbelievable. As someone stated, probably a greedy employee done it.

You guys gotta admit if you were the manager you'd deny it too

I mean crap, the sticker was sealed and he comes back with sand in the box, hrm...

BTW, the ipaq alone is 9.1 ounces, with all that other crap the box is probably like 16 ounces

dude, stop posting and immediately go back there and demand it be settled before you exit the store. NEVER NEVER NEVER EVER listen to a regular employee say they can't do nothing. of course they can't. they don't know jack squat. if the manager doesn't know what to do, have them call the regional manager. if that doesn't work, call their 800 #. do it AT the store. settle it. you don't have to yell but tell them you are really mad, frustrated, and felt cheated. if you know you didn't do anything wrong, you should demand your money back or at least a replacement. the police can't do nothing!!!

<< The dingo ate your ipaq Go pound sand. >>

I did nothing of the sort.

And what kind of sand was it? Good sand? Kitty litter? Have you put it on eBay yet?

i just got back and they say it is out of their hands, I think that means its a police matter now. Their "sub" manager was there and iam going back tomorrow to talk to the real manager of the store. The submanager directly said i will not get anything back, refund or a replacement. Any ideas? what should i say to the real manager tomorrow?

omg dude. each day you carry this on is your lost. you should have demanded they call the 800# and talk to them instead. usually they are more reasonable. i don't understand how you can just give in so easily. what is the police going to do??? all they can do is take a report. that's about it. btw, what was the period of time between you left the store with the ipaq and came back with it filled with sand?

BTW, if you know someone who can really yell at people, take that person with you back to the store at a time with a lot of customer. Seriously have that person yell at the manager, sub-manager or whatever with the customers there. It may seem mean and all but dude you're out of a couple hundreds of your hard earned cash.

Idea 1. Reread this thread then follow the good suggestions made. Sheesh, this really is becoming exasperating watching you request advice, but refusing to actually follow any of it.

The longer this thread lies out here in the sunlight, the worse it smells. Can you say, "attention hound"?

Anyone else doing the math on this one?
