This should be fine, assuming you aren't trading your Xbox for an 8-Ball fresh off the brick.

Cops dont buy drugs with money the make from selling stolen goods. Cops buy stolen goods with money they make from selling the drugs they illegally confiscate.

Anyway, it doesnt make much sense to meet and trade at a PD when there are many public places you can go. Hell for all you know the guy who got anally probed for 14 hours might decide to crash his ANFO-laden SUV into the PD right as you are there waiting for your craigslist seller to show up. Then you're put right in the middle of it. Why? Why even risk something like that? Sure it isnt too likely such a thing would happen, but it is getting more and more likely by the day.

There's certainly no way I'd meet you at the PD.

Two cars meet in a parking lot and cash is exchanged? LOL. Might as well paint 'ATTN: POLICE. PLEASE HASSLE THE FUCK OUT OF ME' down the side of your car.

You have no business with the police, therefore you have no reason to be in their parking lot. Don't be such a pussy and just meet in a public place like everyone else. People who get robbed are people who make deals via text and email and ignore signs of sketchy people.

I could name a few posters here who are so distrustful of the vast majority of the police (due to the actions of a few) that they would be afraid to meet the OP in front of a police station.
now that is true humor!!! hahahaaaaa and so very accurate!!

People do it all the time and police departments all over the country are encouraging it. I've never heard of anyone being hassled by the police over this. Google it.

Speculate/troll much?

A friend of mine decided to give some bum a ride home. The bum decided to try and rob him. While the bum was making his threats and trying to talk him into giving up all his shit, friend was driving straight to the county jail, which was a few blocks away. He said he was able to pull right up to the place and park before the guy even noticed where he was driving to.

yea...all of my CL deals are through email or text. I never use my phone.

Hell, the last thing I bought from someone was off migunowners.com. I bought a Sig P226 and never heard the guy's voice before we met for me to buy it. I got in his car, looked it over, gave him 5 $100 bills and signed the receipts (There are 3 in my state). Took less than 5 minutes.

I just have them come to my house. Way more convenient. Screw having to go get ready and take all that time waiting and hoping they show up. Or getting stood up and wasting all that time. Never had a problem.

*edit* This post landed on my 911 post count. That's NOT a good sigh, perhaps things will not go well next time D:

I want to know why people are so damn scared to to talk on the phone over craigslist ads.

Derp I wanna carry over a shitty text conversation that could be handled in a one minute call

Are you that paranoid or just a whimp? Perhaps you should video tape the exchange and hire some body guards too?

Yes, I'm a paranoid pussy/whimp/etc because I'm not bullet proof

Your turn: are you a fucking idiot? Have you been living under a rock? Are you unaware of the type of individual certain items attract and that people HAVE been killed over them?

I'll get you started: http://kotaku.com/man-shot-dead-over-playstation-4-sale-1466957003

I'm married with kids. Being paranoid is in the job description, ass.

Im sure I can list 100x more crimes that happen not dealing with craigslist than do. I saw a story about a gas station getting robbed, I better not go there!

Grow a pair of balls much?

And rudeguy, while text/email isn't itself anything weird, I always try and get one actual call in before we meet. Especially with a gun deal. Even if it's after everything is agreed upon and I'm en route.

It's just not that hard to read people. Maybe I'm stereotyping, but I just doubt that most of those robbing people on craigslist are smooth conversationalists. Maybe I'm just prejudiced against stutterers or otherwise not-well-spoken people.

Yes! Our manhood is defined by how readily we take unnecessary risks. Brilliant!

I have to meet them somewhere. If I choose to pick a PD over a gas station, what fucking difference does it make to you? Do you feel all big bad and awesome now?

Go you.

Meeting in public, preferably at a Police Department, has always been common-knowledge on Craigslist. It's how I've done it for high-value items since 2004.

Public isn't always safe. A woman selling her iPod at a local park with 100's of people around was forced into a bathroom and raped and also robbed of her iPod and purse.

There's this pesky thing in mathematics called rate. It's more important than frequency.

The more you know.

For someone who is such a chicken little you are a big mouth on the internet, maybe that is the only place you feel like you have a backbone

If you truly fear physical harm meeting at a place other than a station, is it really worth it to huck that Xbox for a couple bucks?

I have a big mouth for pointing out that you fail at math? :hmm: Sounds like you're pretty emotional, then.

If taking simple precautions makes me a "chicken little" (LOL), so be it. Some of you have very odd ways of measuring yourselves as men ;) If anything wreaks of insecurity and weakness, I'd say it's that.

Here's your solution.
Buyer and seller switch IDs. Get arrested. Get personal property...cash and XBox1...logged in with police property room. Make bail. You claim the cash. He claims the XBox1. Exchange IDs back.

You're welcome.
