That's why I don't worry too much about positioning, mannerisms, and speeches. The best predictor is the past. If you liked 1993-2000, vote for Democrat, if you liked 2001-2008 more, vote for Republican. I was happier with the Clinton years, so I am giving them another shot. Clintons know how to clean up messes left by Bushes 😀

I don't know WTF you're talking about. The economic boom we saw under Clinton had nothing to do with Clinton. In regards to foreign policy, all his doom and gloom speak about Iraq only helped Bush Jr invade. It sure didn't hurt.

And the nation cannot afford Hillary Care. We are already too far in debt.

Just another Hillary bashing thread. Why don't you wait till she goes on Meet the Press before you bash?

Because there's nothing she could say on Meet the Press that would even slightly redeem her.

She'll never answer the tough questions, but spin and dodge.

Russert will never ask them, either.

After he stung her at one of those first debates, the Clinton machine smacked him down pretty hard. I predict he'll be noticeably less pressing on the issues.

If I'm wrong, great. But I doubt it.

And, fortunately, there's people who know how to clean up the messes left by both.

There you go predicting again 😉

Russert's been advertising this interview pretty hard, and as she doesn't do press shows often, he knows it's gonna be heavily watched. I think he's gonna go for it.

The Pabster delusion is that anyone who knows how to fix the messes left by GWB is to be found on the Republican side of the fence. Unless Pabster is willing to allow Ron Paul as that lone GOP exception. Otherwise in 08, the GOP is totally hopeless and without any merit.

And since Hillary is not exactly Pabster kosher, that leaves Edwards, Kucinich, or Obama.

That's your opinion. This nation cannot afford to not have HillaryCare. We are spending way more than any other country spends on universal healthcare and are getting much worse results. The current system is economically unsustainable.
Also, the economic boom had a lot to do with Clinton. Fiscal responsibility takes the government out of competing with the private sector for credit, and peaceful foreign policy creates stability for business to thrive.

So what? We'll just have to raise taxes to pay for universal healthcare for everyone in a revenue neutral way. The overall cost will be lower, as evidenced by every other country that has it. And the overall cost is what matters to America's overall competitiveness. Plus the current system is going to collapse anyways. Employers can't afford it with runaway price hikes and having to compete with companies that don't have that burden.

As has your hero Hillary. In fact, she's taking in more $$$ than ever from Big Pharma and HMOs as we speak. Why do you think these corporate behemoths would give all this $$$ to Clinton when the plan she promotes would hurt their business?

They have so much money thanks to Republicans killing universal health care, they are giving it to everyone. It doesn't hurt them one bit, they know where the wind is blowing, they'd be stupid not to give to Democrats.

Do you think that, just perhaps, Hillary's "plan" is nothing but a big give-a-way to those corporations?

I met old Tim R in person when he was here.
Like Ricky says to Lucy, Tim, "you got some splaining to do".
As to why they got it so wrong in NH.

That's why they killed it in 93?

So what is this thread about exactly?? The fact that HRC is going to be on Meet the Press? What more is there to say until people actually watch it??

Wow, people are making too big a deal out of civil rights/MLK comment - and I'm not a Billary supporter by any means. More political BS and posturing, as usual.

I have to agree with jman, Russert dwells on the past, on image over substance, and not even close to what either Russert or Hillary are capable of.

I think Obama's race being in the headlines, at all, works in Clinton's favor. It's win-win for the Clintons to bring up Obama's race and then blame the media for screwing it up. To a lot of uneducated potential voters, this may end up looking like Obama played the Race Card himself.

The Clintons are extra fvcking sneaky that way, and I wouldnt put it past them to be chuckling every time they hear someone bring up Obama's race. seriously.
