Medium rare steaks are disgusting

Fail at creating bogus controv-ersy. That said, why is serving food on planks still a thing? Sure, it's aesthetically pleasing and the relative softness for cutting preferable to the clunks and scrapes of a plate, but it's inherently unsanitary.

of course the yolk silly.

man had some amazing pork bone broth ramen last night in the city, along with a poached egg. that egg yolk mixed with the broth?

sublime yummieliciousness

I always have my steaks medium rare, still.

Have posted in this one before, but my wife used to be that way and has learned to use the meat thermometer these days and only makes hers medium.

She didn't like fish either when we met, and loves most of it now and has stopped overcooking the chicken.

She used to order steak well done, we went out one time at Spoto's (pretty good steak restaraunt here) and when she received a piece of charcoal I just silently grinned a bit.

Runny Egg yolks for the win.

I shoot for over easy, myself, even with hash browns and bacon or ham.

The food "critic" obviously didn't know what "well done" means.

Yes it was.

i like almost-well-done the most, but found that if i told the waitress at ponderosa that, i would just get charcoal steaks

so nowadays i ask for medium-well which usually turns out a lot better

that's what i'm talkin' about.

I have had Ippudo, Santouka, Men Kui Tei, Minca, Hide-Chan and a couple others in NYC. Ippudo the best broth, Santouka the best pork, Hide-Chan the best overall bowl of ramen. Stuff is like pork crack.

Santouka is the InO of Ramen chains - if you're not at least as good as Santouka why bother. Their chalky ass egg is awful, but that shio pork broth is drinkable gallons at a time.

Went to a Texas de Brazil for the first time last night.

Almost everything we had was served Medium Rare (for one thing, it was by request, but some things that was also simply the norm).

It was amazing. :awe:
