Medium rare steaks are disgusting

Porterhouse steaks are better. You get the t-bone (which is a NY strip attached to a bone) and a nice piece of the tenderloin.

A T-Bone with plenty of tenderloin *is* a Porterhouse. Many supermarkets have lazy butchers. Often you will get lucky and find a Porterhouse for a T-Bone price.

It's not lazy, it's ripping off the consumer. I like Publix because they have honest cuts. I have gone to some of the 'cheaper' places people swear by and even chicken is so full of feather remnants it's disgusting.

There is a certain boundary of fat on many cuts...this is usually absent on the cheap places steaks.

I'd perhaps read up and then flame someone.

Tapeworms are very common even in untreated pets.

I did read about it. But cats and dogs are the final host and not the intermediate host to most common pet tape worms. A certain species of tapeworm can also use a human as a final host but seem to be serious danger to humans.

But yesterday after my reply i did look up how often tapeworm infections in humans occur. It is rare in countries with good hygiene. But it does happen.
Tapeworms eggs can also be found on vegetables and fruit in the woods or on mushrooms. That can be the case when an infected animals poops there or just sheds tapeworm segments through the anus. In these segments eggs are present that can then be spread. More reason why good washing and/or cooking is important.

I know this. The detached segment is basically the egg sack.

The Echinococcus species are dangerous to humans it seems. Fascinating. But when googling, i just saw a very gore picture of a mouse with an exploded gut. D:

In the tropics only a fool would eat meat raw. I would never risk raw meat. Medium is my preferred choice.

Oh look, it's this thread again...

Someone needs to stake(steak?) this thread, so it doesn't come back.

Let it stand, as a reminder that if you say something so completely stupid on ATOT, we will forever mock your stupidity. And, serve as a warning to those who wish to post about how awful their taste in food is.

This thread makes more sense if you remember the OP was complaining about having no money. Medium rare steak rules - as long as you get to eat it IN the restaurant, at a table, as soon as it's cooked. From the dumpster out back, well, yes, the medium rare steak might well be slimy and tough to chew.

I would never eat a steak as soon as it's cooked. You had better let that shit rest!

I assume OP likes his tube steaks raw though, cause gotta pay the bills.

I did not read anything about dumpster diving in the Original Post.

Medium rare steaks are disgusting It makes the meat slimy and tough to chew. I don't like slimy, I want something substantial I can bite into.

I hate gooey, lifeless food in general and don't understand people who eat undercooked eggs.

I went to a steak house A few weeks ago and they had 35 day aged steak.

A filthy animal at our table asked for medium well. We just looked at him like he asked for a bag of dead puppies to munch on.

Seriously. Stop. Pls.

Its actually the best way to eat a steak. I like my steak like I like my women, brown on the outside and pink in the middle.
