rakehelion is right, anything less than medium well is sickening

i can't eat it like that without gagging

Sorry dude, that's just disgusting. Anyway I got a great deal at work last week, IBP sent us a box that was supposed to have top sirloin butt's in it but had butt-tenders instead, I bought a pack (they come 2 to a pack) for $6.10/lb, wound up with 8 9oz steaks and 1.5lbs of hamburger (we get credit for the trim). Not only that it was choice black angus!, cooked 4 so far, wrapped in bacon of course and a light marinade of Worcestershire sauce, sea-salt, pepper and I let some garlic cloves steep in some butter and that was used along with a dash of onion powder as well. For these I used my charcoal grille, as much as I love my Weber propane these were just too important to cook on gas.

My steaks have to be seasoned, cooked well done, seared and of course smoked. What disgusts me are people that just toss their steaks in an oven, I refuse to eat them like that anymore.
Smoked though, I can tolerate a medium rare but don't prefer it.

That's why I rarely eat steaks, many restaurants don't use smokers. I can smoke some mean steaks but they are more expensive than I care to pay because it's far from my favorite food or anything.

Yes, but you don't like experiences. Most people won't share your frame of reference.

Everyone else: you probably shouldn't follow brianmanahan's example. Feel free to read his pomes though.

Eats well done steak but does not eat steak cooked in an oven.

I guess since you don't eat proper steaks, it doesn't surprise me that you refuse to eat steaks that come out of an oven.

it's not really about experiences - deep down, my brain doesn't like the idea of meat. i eat it only if it's not squishy, if there's no pink at all, and if it is accompanied by one or more condiments. never plain.

i can eat well-done steak because of the texture, but was never able to get used to seafood's disgusting mushiness. there isn't a single type of seafood i can eat without gagging.

wtf do you eat? pork and chicken?

mainly pork and beef, with a little chicken. nothing else really.

i have 8 simple rules for eating meat:

1) no fat
i can't eat any solid fat whatsoever, because it causes me to gag. gotta cut all that crap off before i attempt to eat it.

this includes bacon - it has to be super crunchy for me to eat it. no fat deposits can be present.

2) no pink meat or blood
if there is any pink meat or blood in the meat, forget about it. i can barely stand the sight, let alone eat it.

3) no sliminess
the meat can in no way be slimy. this disqualifies most chicken, but i can do it if it's grilled and well done.

4) no squishiness
the meat can in no way be squishy. fish has this problem, it is very soft and squishy so i can hardly chew it let alone swallow it.

i tried a bite of tilapia a few months ago and managed to gag it down but the squishiness was overwhelming. never again.

5) no bones
i can't eat meat with bones in it. this includes steak. if the bones are removed, however, i can eat it.

BBQ ribs is sort of an exception, but i pull the meat off with a fork prior to eating.

6) absolutely nothing without a spine
this disqualifies shrimp and most other insects of the sea.

7) absolutely nothing raw
sushi? you gotta be kidding me.

8) must have a condiment
i never eat meat without a condiment like BBQ sauce, ketchup, mustard, miracle whip, relish, etc etc. meat by itself is weird and causes me to think too much that i am eating an animal, which usually causes me to gag.

Tastes way different. I take it you don't have a smoker?
Either way, wtf do you care what I like? Do you think I'm so retarded that I can't have a preference for how food is prepared and cooked?

I like my steaks medium, and sometimes with a little ketchup on the side! Take that!

hey man, i can't help it that i have mental problems :(

supposedly before the age of 3 i was able to eat all kinds of meat. then something happened, and by age 4 these rules were in place.

neither i or anyone else knows why this is.

i have thought about asking a psychiatrist, but dont feel like paying the bill to have them laugh at me.

Wow, just wow. If you eat a T-bone the solution is to do what everyone else does, DO NOT EAT THE BONE..I have to admit I've been known to suck and gnaw on it though.
